A few more from our collection.
Cracking shots of the Scammells “scam” well done! That one of Chapmans caught my eye(old Westmorland reg No.) as it was one of a number that were new to the Davy & Co (Grange)Ltd. subsiduaries K.Fell & Co and J.B.Hudson Ltd. around 1963/4.I believe one of them had the Gardner 150 engine which was bought around '70/1 by a local owner driver ( W.Barnes of Oxenholme) the others had the Leyland 600 or 680 engine, not just sure which. The Furness Transport( a T. Brady subsiduary) motor shot exiting Barrow Steel Works was one of two Scammells Brady ran,the other being a tractor unit. Both Brady motors had the Gardner 150 engine fitted.Keep up the good work,Cheers Bewick.
Many thanks Bewick, Its great when people remember firms of old and such detail about them. Some more to enjoy
