Sir +:
I don’t know any more than I found in a bit of a dig around. I found this very interesting.

Froggy55:
I remember one of these mighty Bugatti railcars was parked for years on a siding in Lodève station (50 kms North from Montpellier, France). I visited it in 1979, but its engines had been removed, and it was finally scrapped in the 1990s when they levelled the place to build the A 75 motorway. A shame to me!

Very interesting indeed, cheers for the link Sir +.

Indeed a shame Paul, how much ended up at the scrap yard that is now much sought after…

David Miller:
As per Patrick’s request, a picture of my chariot that I brought here.

It is easy to forget how far behind us the American motor industry is. This one, a Ford Explorer, has a great engine and gearbox but Land Rover suspension. Just hope it’s as strong.

Cheers David, doesn’t look too bad either… for a yank build car that is… what engine does it got…er…under the hood, v8 presumably…?

Hey Patrick.

No mate its a 4 liter V6 with a 5 speed manual box. When I told my mate in the States he was surprised that it was manual because no such thing exists there, all auto. But with more investigation it emerges that these were built for export to South America - hence the Land Rover suspension. A leaf spring at each corner! Still it should be up to the job.

Trust all is well with you PATRICK.

A V6? Manual 'box? How about that… aye, can imagine it’s a bit wobbly
All is well mate, enjoyed a day off here in France due to a driving ban on a bank holiday… however I’ll be on me way first thing tomorrow morning…
Trust you’re having a grand time there then eh…?

Could not resist sharing this with you Gentleman. Here is Colombian Police Interceptors out chasing the bad guys.

It seems they have plenty of Plod but are short of these 125 cc road burners. Solution? Simples!

The epitome of a French wagon from the '60’s… this one from1961, a Berliet TLM10.
I can remember British lorries from that period, and they didn’t look that good…or did they ?..

Nostalgic pic…going on holiday, French style

Message from the Colombian Interceptors. They wanted me to explain that they really wanted to be out catching the bad guys but it was lunchtime so they had to park-up and go to the Pub. They even brought the Tow Truck

Pics 1 & 4 are Swiss Army Saurers. I just wonder how the 8x8 can pull such a load with its small engine
Pic 3 is a circus tractor based probably on an ex-WW II IH M 426
Pic 5 is an ex-French Army Berliet
Italian Astra for Pic 6

Maybe Hanomag for Pic 8 and OM for Pic 9

1955 registrated Citroën 2 CV van, with a 375 cc flat twin. The family certainly had plenty of time to enjoy the landscape during the journy down to the South from the Loiret!

Thanks Paul…interesting old lorries there, as for the 2CV, the young nipper looks familiar, think it might be that whippersnapper ? In tying to chat the girls up, didn’t get out of the van in time, so ended up in Cannes… he’s still trying to work his way home, only got as far as Holland so far… :unamused:
