At first glance I’d thought that it was your wagon Davidoff

Froggy55:
“De belles brochettes de photos”, as we’d say in French!

Any idea what is the make of the truck on 1st picture of your 7.20 pm batch yesterday? At first glance, I would have said Loheac or eventually Miesse (Belgian trucks), but I’ve never seen 6x4 tractors by either of these manufacturers.

Merci beaucoup, ca c’est tres gentil mon ami

Now about that wagon, haven’t got the slightest idea about what make it is Froggy…was hoping someone else on here’s got some more knowledge about given subject…

Some random ones…

Transports Roblin

Still keeping it’s earn…

I think it’s a home-made special. Yes, it looks like a Loheac, suggesting that it was made from an ex-US Army vehicle, like that other camion de la maison superieur, if you will excuse my anglo-saxon. I had a look at some Diamond T M52-based heavy-haulers- early Ginafs and that long-wheelbase thing that is often confused with a Vabis LV, but they have different front wheels. Maybe this lorry has had its front axle swapped out for a non driven one?

I also looked some Pacifics, but their front wheels are different too.

I did find this:

Did Geneve put the cab on this Pacific? It is a super creation, in my view. Does the driver’s window open with the door, or did he enter via the bottom half of the door only?

Thought you were retired Fergie, but you’ve been spotted moving a windmill blade… authorities weren’t happy with it though… :unamused:

Could it be a German make as well? It does look quite similar to a pic I’ve got, will see if I can dig it up…apologies in advance if I’m talking out of me a…

Cheers, Patrick

Found it, not really the same though is it…

Faun. Close, but no cigar.

My money is still on it being a one-off- the grille looks like it was made out of bits of L76 grilles.

Bugger

I hadn’t thought of Faun or Kaelble. The front axle could also be Willème…

Now, there is a full-size coulour picture of our mystery truck. It should be a Faun L 1212/45

Thanks for posting all those old pics Patrick…

You know, of all these specially build heavies, including all the modern vehicles, I recon you’ve a job to beat those 8 wheeler Willems, they look just right, and capable, and if they look right , they probably did the job well…maybe Froggy or Michal with their connections might find out from an old driver what they were really like to drive…did looks decieve I wonder…

The Faun was fitted with a Deutz V12-Diesel F 12 L 614 (15.6 litres; 19 litres from 1961) delivering 250 bhp at 2300 rpm . Probably an as “beefy” truck as were the 8-cyl Willèmes!

Here’s the sound of another Faun truck fitted with the same engine: youtube.com/watch?v=wsrW6NzpIeE

Supplementing the pension Patrick…never mind this health and safety, ■■■■■■ cars, permits, and informing the gendarmes, load of old baloney, get on and do the job…cheaper than your mob as well…
