And■■? what is dangerous about that? you can still see a vehicle and a person with a sat nav in the windscreen, if you cant it is the driver who needs taking out.
Cant believe you just said that pal,Many a time has someone walked infront of my truck and i ain’t seen them til the very last seconds. Now i have a wagon with one of them windscreen mirrors it make’s seeing these ppl that walk infront of you alot easier. You can’t blame the driver’s for ppl’s stupidity
About thing’s in your windscreen The only thing aloud in it is your tax disc and operators licence, anything else is illegal.{ nameplates, flags etc) even the sign that tells you that it is an offence to smoke in this cab ain’t allowed on the windscreen, one off our units failed it’s MOT because of it.
REF your sat navs Why don’t you put them at the bottom right corner of your windscreen, that way they ain’t in the wiper area of your windscreen.OR LEARN TO READ A MAP
I read the map and use the satnav as a backup to make sure i am not going in the wrong direction
Vosa enforcer stopped me once and moaned about sat nav and flags… His words were anything above the wipers was illegal as it can obscure your vision on what is in front of you, IE- Pedestrian walking across road etc… He did say though that your sat nav, if needed, should be fixed to the right hand side of your window, IE- WHere the window starts to curve back round.
So don’t Vosa stop these car drivers with them smack bang in the middle of the windscreen about 9 out of 10 cars have them there?
Cars are not monitored by VOSA
Thats down to the on form knowledgeable boys in blue to sort out.
I think cars should be monitered by Vosa too it may help sort them out ■■?
■■■■ we dont want to be stopped on our way to and from work too

What im trying to say is if someone walks in front of your truck the satnav is not big enough to block your view of that person, you should be able to see them.
Sorry officer, the pedestrian I flattened was concealed behind my;
Tax disc,
O’ licence,
Vehicle height sticker,
Recovery details sticker,
FTA inspection record stickers,
Speed limiter sticker,
Port ID sticker,
Engine warming procedure sticker
Correct use of first gear sticker…

Does it mean we can’t pull down the sun visor when blinded?

dont forget your dart and severn bridge tags.
The trouble with satnav is the unit needs to be in contact with a satellite if it cant see one it will not work the only way around the problem is a sensor attached remotely but it would still be stuck on to the screen
that was with what ill call sirf1 receivers
with new satnavs they will still work even if in the glove box
I been stopped by vosa severals times and the police everything ok all time touch wood lol.
Always got sat nav at the bbottom of the screen in middle never no probs from anyone.
talked to a guy in a pub after football match, and he had a vectra top of the range outside pub, he had a sat nav and also had a sat nav holder just like tomtoms winder suction, but his would stick to plastic on the dashboard and also softer dashboards, he even showed me it, was very impressed by that.
Why cant tomtom do something like that then?

I have seen the odd car pulled over by VOSA as remeber VOSA over see the MOT’s etc etc for cars so no reason why they cant i’m guessing…
If you do stick the sat nav in the side window, do tell what your boss said, when you kept getting lost
My sat nav sits nicely to the right of the steering wheel and below the instrument binnacle and steering wheel level
i used to like my old 4 series used to sick it to the ashtray lid
I’ve got my sat nav, tax disc, Euro 3 sticker for Italian tunnels, o licence, driver timer, Austrian Go box, CZ go Box, Dart tag, and French tag box in my window,
I can’t help thinking that by taking the sat nav out it wouldn’t make much difference
In euroland, you can buy a weighted cushion thing that has a spot for sticking satnav suckers. It claims to be able to sit still on your dash and support it. Should have got one of those when I was there…
