I dont see the problem with them being on the screen. The problem is not them being on the screen, the problem is them being in the wiper swipe area.
well I put the satnav on the inside so it wont cause a problem

ive been having trouble at freightliner cos my satnav is in my windscreen and its now not allowed.
you are not allowed anything in your windscreen.

Dear Colleages
Thatâll be ASDA then!!!
I canât believe all this PG9 stuff over a satnav in the window. Next someones gonna say theyâll be giving you fixed penalties for trivial things instead of doing âforeignersâ
Haven`t heard anything at my ASDA depot yetâŚ
Who are these drivers being `Doneâ by?
I got pulled by VOSA ()on Thursday morning at Buckley,
not sure if its Cheshire or North Wales .
I had sat nav in windscreen and a tray stuck to the screen and an
Ireland scarf (small one not one ya wear lol) and nothing was said.
I think they had their own reasons for the tug as i was the only british truck there
He found nothing wrong but was going on about OL disc not being displayed its a hire truckâ â ?

Ask them to print you a map out everytime they give you a job then?
i"ve been done for having my nameplate in windscreen.
as far as the law states you are not allowed to have anything within the swept area of the windscreen.
Weâve had notices like that stuck on our notice board for a couple of weeks now. Apparently it is an offence to have anything other than tax discs/operators licence discs in the windscreen, not sure where we stand with the LBTS discs in the windows too lol. Iâm sure if it isnât in the way you wouldnât get done. Iâve seen car drivers with them right in the centre of the windscreen just below the rear view mirror FFS.
Office: go to such and such for a load going to bla-de-bla
me: donât know where that is
Office: youâre supposed to have maps you idiot
Me: I â â â â â â â spent ÂŁ300 on an electronic map called a satnav so â â â â you and yer maw

Nothing heard at Bedford either
Just do what some of them do at our place, stick it over the speedometer instead!
satnavs are designed to attach to the windscreen, As it is the safest place for them. If they are put anywhere else then the driver woulndnât be looking forward.
If VOSA ordered me to take mine out of the windscreen i would sue them for putting my safety at risk. For a ÂŁ50 court fee it would be worth the look on their faces.

for arguments sake - is the speedo in the windscreen - same argument could be said for that
velcro tape on the dash and the sat nav - job done
i wouldnt be surprised of anything vosa say to be honest

I have never been pulled by VOSA or cops for having sat nav at the bottom of the window, even passed nottingham/Bingley weighbridge with VOSA standing there and they didnt do anything. far as iâ,m aware its not obstructing my vison where i put itâŚ
Would be interesting to hear what our resident Mr VOSA has to say on the subject, he normally pops his head up when VOSA are in the lime light
I was pulled in yesterday by VOSA and had my satnav in the unswept part of the windscreen by the windscreen piller, didnt tell me to shift it
but did make me take my isle of man TT races sunstrip down as it came into the swept area ,
âAll glass or other transparent material fitted to a
motor vehicle shall be maintained in such condition that it does not obscure the
vision of the driver while the vehicle is being driven on a road.â
as described in the vosa test manual.
Have been tugged a few times by VOSA and Police, never been told to move my Sat-Nav.
If I was to be pulled over for Obstruction of vision I would gently point out the fact I have a bigger vision problem with the mirrors on my VOLVO!!! Causing blind spots, specially on roundabouts!!
Wake up and smell the coffee mister VOSA, do VOLVO for where there have put a 3 ft by 2 ft piece of mirror and plastic just so you can hit someone on a roundabout!!!
Only thing in my screen is Sat-Nav and my â â â smog!!!
its easy to slove use a bridt pro clip these clips attach to the dash no srewing and are non damaging solutions are avalable for most satnavs and trucks/cars
I put my sat nav in the bottom right hand side if the windscrenn and never been pulled by vosa why dont they go get these car drivers who have them plonked in the middle of the windscreen !!!
just keep it as low as pos
or velcro it to dash
