Oh dear ! Sorry.
piccalilli
I had a sugar sandwich a few weeks back, lovely. Banana and sugar is good too, never tried it with Golden Syrup though, I only ever use that in my Ready Brek.
As I said, Marmite is my default sarnie, but at home I’ll have a Tuna and Coleslaw too every once in a while, one of those rotisserie chickens pulled apart between an unsliced crusty loaf is a bit nice too, especially if it’s still hot. Fish Fingers are pretty good too and they do need red sauce on them.
From a butty van, you can’t beat bacon, or sausage and a runny yolk egg with HP as a substitute, but only if they’ve run out of bacon.
From Subway or similar, a foot long meatball with marinara sauce, although they’re never to be eaten in the cab, they have to be the messiest sandwich ever.
From a deli, salt beef on rye with loads of mustard or smoked salmon and black pepper.
I did a fancy one out of a cookbook a few times, toasted brioche bread with smoked salmon, scrambled egg and hollandaise sauce, bit poncy, but I was trying to get into someone’s knickers, it worked too, more than once, made me look all sophisticated
But, the best of the lot, a chip butty with homemade chips and enough vinegar to make you choke, mmmm mmmm mmmm
Marmite is great on a crusty cob, , got to have a good tasty butter with it and from the buttie van, a nice bacon roll with butter on it & onions if possible:-)

Or a proper Jewish salt beef sandwich with pickles, only had good ones in New York.
If you’re ever in London come off the North Circular at Henleys Corner heading towards Golders Green. A couple of hundred yards up on the right is a wee Jewish salt beef place. Doesn’t look much from the outside but the salt beef is GOOD! It just melts in your mouth…The Brass Rail in Selfridges also do a very fine version but it’s a bit dearer, still worth every penny!
If it’s a butty van then it’s got to be a sausage and black pudding barm with sweet chilli sauce or if not plenty of brown sauce will suffice.
Marmalade and marmite buttie, though better on hot toasted crust

Becon. That’s that Jamican bacon isn’t it? Lovely stuff.
Cheese and jam, preferably really mature cheddar with black currant or damson jam. Lush!
( and before the haters start hating what do you think cheesecake is? Plus biscuit of course lol!)

When we were newly wed, and Herself was trying hard to please, she used to make up my snap tin, but she only ever put one filling in the butties. So I’d have six cheese one day, then six tomato the next, and so on.
So, one day, I asked if I could have a variation in my butties.
Next day, I had two cheese on top.
Then two tomato.
Then the next two were cheese and tomato!
But bless her, she did get the idea after a while, and I’ve still got her 48 years later, so she must have got it right!
But, fave buttie? Homemade bread, Welsh salt butter, and good old-fashioned roast beef!
