Same here, tiny sprinkle of salt as it was already salty, miss that!!

Humus and crispy bacon…

Ya cant beat a bit of bread and dripping or hot toast and drip, cheese and beetroot sarnys, ham cheese branston and salad cream…and a favourite is mackereal with mayo , …no good for the waistline but a bit of wot you fancy does you good.

Cheese omelette sandwich or proper salt beef as an occasional treat, yum, yum!

Ham & cheese
Cheese & tomato
Beef & mustard
Turkey& stuffing
BLT
I’m not fussy, but I can’t eat a sandwich without adding crisps. No idea why must stem from childhood. Having crisp sarnies. Must be the crunch and texture.

Cheese and Coleslaw

Coronation chicken
Cheese & coleslaw
Boiled eggs & marmalade.

Just thinking back, I think it’s standard as a kid to have made at least once a tomato sauce sandwich, makes me retch at the thought now though. Scramble egg sarnies rock though!!

Used to have sugar sandwiches when I was a kid, tried them couple of years ago and it tasted foul

White bread with chocolate sprinklers

My kids use to eat white bread with chocolate sprinklers en peanut butter ( only the real one Calve) they use to call it M&M’s

White bread with Cocos bread or white bread with “muisjes” ( Dutch sugar covered ■■■■■■ seed bread cover)

Nowadays nothing beats a Burgen bread sandwich with sandwich spread, edam cheese, silverside and mayonaise or mustard mayonaise.

Or a proper Jewish salt beef sandwich with pickles, only had good ones in New York.

Or a proper American Roast Beef sandwich ( the Beef nice red inside) with pikcled gherkins and mayo.
Had one in Atlantic city and even I could not get my mouth around it, so many slices of tasty moist beef in it.

By the way still have now and than a Sugar sandwich with plenty butter (if nobody sees it :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: )

Haslet & pastrami are 2 of my favourites.

What ever i can scrounge out of the cupboard  ,given a good day, I’d have cold meat such as, haslet, ,tounge, ,liver, , hate luncheon meat though & not fussed about white meat, I’d sooner avoid it.
I too had often wondered about the dead lion & flies on the syrup tin
