Again I am on here, defending both myself and my colleauges. What is this have a pop at RM drivers time is it, and as for the last post saying “pay peanuts you get monkeys” well we are on about £24000 a year without overtime and allowances, so i would’nt say thats peanuts would you. Yes RM do employ alot of agency drivers but also as i have said before most of us are full timers. Finally just to let you know Parcelforce drivers are Royal Mail drivers, as we do the same duties.
i know that mate - thats why i said it, was waiting for someone to twig
dont take all this personally mate, as every other week some one with too much time on their hands writes down every hauliers name on a bit of paper, folds it up and puts it in a hat, shakes the hat pulls out a name and thats who’ll get slagged off next i think thats how it works…

You are quite right to defend yourself and your hard working and proper driving colleagues - but you must admit that the videos shown wouldn’t do any company image any good.
Always some idiot who should’t hold a cycling proficiency never mind a class 1 licence that spoils it
but, it only takes one, (or more) bad apples to spoil the whole bunch.
Its the actions in the video’s posted that give the rest of us a bad name, and fuel the facebook truck hater groups.

Has anyone ever highlighted this to the company? Whether they would pay any attention is another thing, but if those aggrieved only moan about in on forums and don’t take the info to the company who are unaware of the level of ‘professionalism’ their drivers show then how can they be expected to know things need to be changed re their drivers attitudes
i think i read somewhere before ( yes i can read if it has some pictures to give me a clue wot am reading about)…
that Royal mail driver’s have some sort of Exmption if they have been involved in a accident… think it was on the lines of holding the mail up … that they had a kinda royal Warrent to say they must get through with the mail…
or maybe it’s just the fact …the copious amount of Jack D… that i have consumed on the very cold nite is starting to take effect…and if that is the case then it’s about time for another Double…
I don’t know where they’re driving like nutters this week, it certainly isn’t around here - We’ve hardly had any post for a week. Either that, or they’re trying to cover the defecit

It’s not the drivers, or any other employee, it WAS the company and it was called crown exemption. It’s my understanding that because any prosecution in criminal courts is made by the “crown” against the accused the crown could not prosecute itself. In practice it was rarely, if ever, used and has since been withdrawn. They may still have their own insurance.
It’s at least 10 years since I had any dealing with a former Post Office subsiduary (BT).

_90% of the time, people have a grudge with a company because they got knocked back for employment_and in this case its royal mail!
which orrifice did you pluck this figure from. my brother in law is the transport manager at a main royal mail rdc and he tells me some of the antics they get to also i live very close to the royal mail center next to arla in leeds and every day see the stupid stuff the van and 7 1/2 ton drivers get up to, i.e racing cutting each other up and trying to go round the stourton roundabout on 2 wheels.
90% was just a random figure, i do know 2 people who ave been rejected for employment one of which works for arla at lockerbie and the other works for samworth brothers out of penrith.
as for the racing and cutting eachother up, weve never seen any of that up at our way in carlisle and ive never seen it anywhere else!
you say u would never apply or work for the royal mail, but if there was nothing else out there u would, we get paid 24k per year and then allowances, avg, £70p/w, then a great pension oh and also £15 p/h overtime rate! i think you would jessica dad!
IF HES THE TRANSPORT MANAGER, THEN WHY ISNT HE DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT■■?
limeyphil:
i think it’s a health and safety issue, how can anyone with allergies be expected to drive to the same standards as someone without allergies, when forced to share his cab with a black and white cat?
Well I think it’s funny Phil, everyone else appears to have their head shoved too far up their arse How the ■■■■ can people be defending the RM drivers when there’s video evidence & a load of people saying they’ve been a victim of an RM driver
FFS people get a grip, there are bad drivers on almost every firm in the country, in fact not almost, but all firms, even some owner driver companies, there are some, however, for whatever reason, be it poor pay, or whatever, that seem to attract more idiots than others, RM just happens to be of them, oh & BTW 24 grand a year ain’t nothing to shout about, I was earning more than that working for a regular old fashioned transport company in 1990.

well ive no reason to lie as i dont know you or anything about your depot, but i do know what i see with the drivers coming out of the royal mail center next to arla leeds.

well if thats the rates… im still not interested so i’m still not going apply. and it’s not the only job in the world is it.
IF HES THE TRANSPORT MANAGER, THEN WHY ISNT HE DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT■■?
because he is a waste of time and space and i cant be bothered talking to him and ask.

Well get the drivers to drive more professionally then
And personally, I would only go to the Royal Mail as a very last resort…
Did anybody notice when they were on strike that the drivers drove more courtesly

Does this smack of “My dads bigger than your dad- my dogs blacker than your dog”
Not sure where money came into this but if anyone drives like a complete [zb] then he should be banned-royal mail or not- LOADS A MONEY or not
Unfortunately you can’t defend what has been shown - no one is saying you are a bad driver - so why defend the morons who are
That’s just it chevmac, he’s defending the Royal Mail, but how can you defend against the behaviour on that video? It’s not the first video like that I’ve seen on here either
No need for a video of your shift chappy, we believe you, not ALL RM drivers are like that, but some obviously are
