my best mate was killed by a royal mail truck 8 years ago on the a21 at roberstbridge, the driver fell asleep at 11.35pm and drove strait into my mate head on… killed him instantly…

Sorry to hear that, now I would say you can’t hold that against ever RM driver, but link that info with the two videos that have been posted and it doesn’t make for good reading/viewing.
Has anyone ever highlighted this to the company? Whether they would pay any attention is another thing, but if those aggrieved only moan about in on forums and don’t take the info to the company who are unaware of the level of ‘professionalism’ their drivers show then how can they be expected to know things need to be changed re their drivers attitudes

Wanna come sit with me every night on the A46 while they race past on the way to coventry and then all pile out about 11pm and race back down oh and as the thread states Royal mail drivers i think there is a thread on stobarts

ive had the misfortune of driving for parcelforce, the vans are in such a bad state its unreal,
I see a lot of RM drivers (being based not far from the NDC at Dirft) and the ones in those videos are the first ones I’ve ever seen driving discouteously. I’ve experienced the car driver style nose cutting off from all and sundry, including, Stobarts, Jack Richards, TNT, DHL, Wincanton, ND, Tesco, Asda. So as usual its a minority of drivers getting the rest a bad name.

Last night one just cut in front of me in the safe gap I had between myself and the truck in front forcing me to slam the brakes on - good job I was lightly loaded
i think it’s a health and safety issue, how can anyone with allergies be expected to drive to the same standards as someone without allergies, when forced to share his cab with a black and white cat?

A couple of years ago I forced a Royal Mail artic to stop on the M1 as he was driving with his landing legs wound down .
His response was yes I know about that
Wacky Races isn’t exclusive to Royal Mail drivers. A few years ago I used to do a trunk from Park Royal to Leicester in the evening and the standard of driving from truckers had to be seen to be believed. It wasn’t unusual to see stuff like you saw in the videos but you know what they say “You pay peanuts you get monkeys!”
Again I am on here, defending both myself and my colleauges. What is this have a pop at RM drivers time is it, and as for the last post saying “pay peanuts you get monkeys” well we are on about £24000 a year without overtime and allowances, so i would’nt say thats peanuts would you. Yes RM do employ alot of agency drivers but also as i have said before most of us are full timers. Finally just to let you know Parcelforce drivers are Royal Mail drivers, as we do the same duties.
