It wasn’t red when Gilly had it. He sold it to Redferns at Flagg, they painted it red then Tony Foy had it pulling at flat trailer. I’ve a feeling LL warrens had it then but don’t quote me on that one.
I think this is M819YWB before it was painted red.
Think they still go to Truck Shows and Truckfest.
Last saw one about 10 years ago. It was the Corrie one they had
Kindest regards

The only one he’s still got is the ‘‘Diana’’ DAF now. They organise the Peak truck show at uttoxeter every year. Roy is one of the judges i think.

Hello A.J.T 88
I’m sure it was a Roy Gill. It was a 4 x 2 DAF 95XF space cab tractor unit. I saw a photo of it on a website at one of the truck shows (think it was Peak)
Kindest regards

as far as i can remember, i cant recall roy gill ever running a green daf (correct me if im wrong). i know he had a daf 95xf in red/silver as a one off to work along side his other trucks in the original blue/silver livery. this is the one i thought you might of been on about… hankstruckpictures.com/pix/t … le0110.jpg

also seen his old red daf ssc heading on a lowloader into dublin port last week, look’s like it was heading for export,i think john o’neill heavy haulage owned it here in ireland after roy…
Saw that 143 “twilight zone” in Mondello in 2000. It was a fantastic looking truck. Just saw it on Done Deal this evening for sale, some difference!
Wow bit of a mess and a big difference to how I remember seeing it at truckfest if I had the money I wouldn’t mind having it as a resto project
Can think of easier ways to get rid of Roy gills name than cut a hole in the air deflecter though
According to the dvla website the 143 is still on the road.
Gill’s have bought it back and are restoring it.
