if you were going to Bootle on
Saturday and leaving Coventry at
about 1100
which way would you go
Hitch, come up the M6. Toll road is up to you. Avoid M56/Runcorn Bridge route. Take M62 then M57 and come off at the East Lancs/A580. Follow that into Bootle.
Not sure how viable alternative routes to M6 are for you though. You could join via A5 etc.
To the docks or shopping or visiting ?
resembles the wild west town Dodge City ' --- :unamused: . --- but you could try going M6 North then M62- M57-A580 . > M6 toll is optional  Don
t do hand signals if you value your wrist watch.
Keep your windows wound up and doors locked at all times

.
…or if you fancy a ride out and the scenic long way round > M69 - M1 North - M62 West
Be aware that the grand national is on Saturday and switch island m57/58 has lane closures and lots of delays !!

This !! It will be bedlam down there.
62 to the Rocket and round Queens Drive to Dunnings Bridge, would be better tomorrow.Or 62,then Edge Lane to town and down Dock Rd or Gt.Howard St/Derby Rd.
M62 to the end then queens drive to bootle, went thro Liverpool from allerton rd to Birkenhead at 8 this morning to the tunnels not a sole about was a tad strange
avoid the Aintree madness!! id go M6, M54 to the A41, then come up through Whitchurch. from there head to Chester then up the the M53 to Birkenhead and through the tunnels, turn Left and your in Bootle the M6/M58/M57/M62 WILL be Chaos tomorrow!! Do yourself a favour, and avoid the lot!!

cheers
ok her Sat Nav is programmed
to avoid Switch Island
its a 3 destination job
just as long as she follows
my instructions
Honestly Ormskirk Road A59 is not as rammed as you may think in fact away from the closing time of the races between 4 and 8 (Road is closed) its quieter than normal. You can use Ormskirk Road or dunningsbridge Road. Time depending it’s a breeze to drive through. I live near there and used to work across the road from the course.
The Route to Bootle is paved with good intent.

queens drive doesnt go to dunningsbridge. 62 and down queens drive takes you right to bootle. the roads only get busy after the races and thats only all the roads from aintree to town
If your worried, go m57 junction 4 to a580 down to Queens drive, straight down balliol Road to the dock Road or Derby Road.
