Could always go through Runcorn/Widnes and join the A561 follow it to the a5058. Turn left onto the a5058 (otterspool road. )
Follow all the way down, turn right on the roundabout onto riverside road. Follow it straight down, you’ll end up with the mersey on your left. Just keep following your nose over the round abouts and it will bring you out at the Albert docks. Then it’s a case of getting onto Derby road which is easy enough. Just make like the Romans, go straight.
Avoid Leeds street. It’s got road works which are a nightmare!!
This route may not be the quickest in regards to speed limits but I always use it to avoid traffic on motorways and it’s quiet 99% of the time. Freightline use it to get to seafourth docks.
1FLEETRENEGADE:
Be aware that the grand national is on Saturday and switch island m57/58 has lane closures and lots of delays !!
This !! It will be bedlam down there.
62 to the Rocket and round Queens Drive to Dunnings Bridge, would be better tomorrow.Or 62,then Edge Lane to town and down Dock Rd or Gt.Howard St/Derby Rd.
+1
queens drive doesnt go to dunningsbridge. 62 and down queens drive takes you right to bootle. the roads only get busy after the races and thats only all the roads from aintree to town
Correct.Millers Bridge sorry!!@

The M6 doesn’t go to London either, but i go on it if i wanna get there.
but the end of queens drive and dunnings bridge run pretty much parallel to each other about 2 miles apart your not gonna turn off one to get to the other, when dunnings bridge doesnt even go to the area you want. and the road you were on does!
ok thanks for your suggestions
but did she follow our advice of course not
she left at 1000 hr and took 2:25 following
her normal route.
She said there was no undue hold ups
so there you go

Dunnings Bridge Road runs from Switch Island down to Seaforth Docks. Queens drive starts at County Road, Walton and runs up to Wavertree - nowhere near one another. It’s where I was dragged up.

It not only runs up to Wavertree it goes all the way to Sefton Park !!! But we know this. Its moot now as the OP did indeed go along the M57 and have no issue with any traffic for Aintree. But if you where going to either Bootle or Dunnings bridge and you where on the M62 and you wanted to avoid the M57 then you’d go along Queens drive. All the trucks from outta Town that want to avoid it because of the VOSA checkpoint did and still use Queens Drive. HTH.

Wonder how long that new vosa station has left until completed at the end of the 58
