It would be a shame for it to fail after all the glowing reports Rob. They seemed to be turning it round but I have to agree with you,the parking fee should go to Hunter, or the majority of it should
i think now the B.P garage is charging for parking the cattlemarket is on a level playin field

Opposite the KFC,the old services site which was demolished.
the thought of KFC, or SUBWAY makes me want to puke, im a lorry driver therefore want a bacon sarnie.

I have never stopped at that place i have always passed it by 
and as for paying money for a changeover 
no way you are to honest mate it cost nothing to change over in a layby

Stopped there last night. Food is good. But no shower and the toilet needs a good clean. No hot water either.
I was told there will be new showers soon, but time will tell.

Hi everyone sorry not posted for a while but as i have been working i have left it totally to jess to do as he pleases until new place opens then i will get back into it , the plans are done on new place and its in local paper for planning permission .
now the bad news … for reasons i cant go into the cafe is shut for a week or 2 and jess is well out of it ! and will no way be back … things do wrong when you are not there to keep eye on things and im afraid i seem to have been blind and things has gone majorly wrong … its nothing to do with food or premises its solely jess and stupuid things he has been upto , we had to shut or be involved and i have worked to hard to lose it for him .
Thanks for support in past and will let you know when we reopen , by then may be able to tell you when new cafe will be ready too !

Thanks ollie, yes we will get the bigger sausages back … there will be a big difference in menu in new place incuding salad and jacket potatos and pininis, and roast dinners but also we will be doing the good old burgers and stuff we do now .
just before we open new place i was going to ask any drivers if they would be good enough to give ideas what you would like on menu .
also the showers will definately be free for anyone parking over night and small charge for those just passing through but might give free if having a meal there … that will have to be looked into yet though .
the truck parking area has been cleared of the tyres that was all over the place and the hedge are on right of truck park which you reverse upto has been all nicely banked up and the larger holes has had stuff in them to level parking area … so things are happening even if slower than desired .

Jacket potato with chilli con carne please, chilli and rice, curries(fresh not microwave), spaghetti bollognaise, steak/chicken breast with new pots and veg, carvery, casserole, shepherds pie all home made please, are a few ideas of non greasy fat as ffff meals. I’m fed up seeing the same fatty crap on truck stop menus and even when not ordering a burger or chips it comes microwaved
Breakfast menu could include porridge, scrambled eggs and wholemeal toast instead of White. I know I’m on to a loser here but thought I’d put my opinion in. I know most truckers want bacon sausage burgers chips etc but not all of us, and most of em are crap anyway due to them being cheap.
Ok ollie , we will be doing homemade food like chilli and spaghettie bollognaise and various chicken offerings but must admit it may well be heated in microwave but not cooked originally in it !
as for breakfast we were thinking of doing the cereals and toast with scrambled . poached or fried eggs and we hope to have some different types of bread on offer , will get porridge in for you mate !
we will have hot display trays which you can choose and make meals up like boiled potatos and roasties and different veg but these do dry food up so may have different selections at different times of day or have like curry nights and fish on fridays etc , so we keep the food moving and not drying up … if it sells 
talked with guy today and he said we now have objections to the planning from the highways agency ! they say the access not good ! its on a blinking roundabout on main road … so why is it not safe ? been trucks off this site for years .
i am trying to get hold of a truck spares company and see if we can get some basic stuff in on sale or return basis like airlines and susies and some variety of bulbs and oil inc hydaulic oil, i have also suggested to owner about fuel bunkering on site on selfserve basis but thats just an idea not definate by anymeans .
we need it open 1st though one day maybe
Hi , latest update at cafe … Ray the owner is coming back from spain to maybe run cafe for few weeks or just clear the site of all his stuff including cafe .
he has been told he cannot stay on the site and must leave … i know there are many going to say “good” but also we have had many praise him at cafe for the help he gave drivers in the snow etc helping do repairs and supplying tools to drivers … i personally thank him for the chance to run the cafe even though i had nothing but grief from it
I can assure everyone the new cafe will be open just need to sort out the objections from highways agency about access but the owners are doing all that then its full steam ahead , they have builder waiting to start and he says it wont take long to do the conversion … as said before i will keep you all updated .

Just called at R-O-W truckstop today, and the “lady” serving me today told me that Hunter has done a runner?? , and the owner is coming back from spain to take over the running of the cafe again, without the dogs this time. Must admit it did look clean and the bacon butty and tea wasn’t bad and cheap enough. Anybody else for a update??
i havent done a runner lol i am walking away though, ray is back and "the lady " was his mrs as i have said in previous post , i asked him to come back due to all what was going on with jess running the place … the market is saying different things all the time and im not being messed about waiting … 1 minute they say he must go , then due to the money he wants to leave they say he can stay, so i really dont know what else to say … he has cleaned it up and there are no dogs thats true , scrap cars are gone and its looking good … he will make a go of it if he stays but as for doing a runner … no just casual walk thanks to all who gave me a chance much appreciated .
