That’s a shame Dan, he has all the right qualifications for the job. An ex tipper driver, used to driving pedal to metal, being on the wrong side of the road and going around roundabouts the wrong way!!!

Pete.

Heres a good sheeted & rope job the Old Dennis just loves,    Regards Larry.

Dan’s right Pete, you won’t get me driving in no foreign land, the nearest I got to going abroad lately was passing the DVSA border control point at Carlisle to tip Glasgow on Christmas Eve, and the nearest I got to eating foreign food was having my breakfast on the way back at Lesmahagow.

I’ve just got back tonight after dealing with a couple of Johnny Foreigners on a recovery job, 2 drivers on De Rooy lorries one had broke down at Uttoxeter so we had to unload the one that was piggy backed on the top uncouple the trailer then tow everything away, neither driver understood the Queens English so we shouted louder to MAKE them understand, that didn’t work too well so we just made them stand still till we were ready to move and pointed to each driver to get in the vehicle we wanted them in. “Oi you, get in here, NOW” seemed to be the only bit of English they could understand if it was shouted loud enough straight at them, who says Shiptons Recovery staff aint multi skilled ?

Like you said though Pete, Italy, it’s just about do-able in a day, granted you’d have to hit all the traffic lights on green but just in case there were any problems I’d probably have Gavin on stand by if I ran out of hours at say Kegworth on the way back.

Your doing right avoiding that Foreign grub Robert and keeping within the British coastline! Leave it those youngsters like Dan. Never had a passport myself either but I did once have a taste of food from another country…a Scotch egg and it was bloody awful. Just dont go upsetting those Foreign truckers though, we dont want any more enemies. Best let Gavin deal with them, then nobody would understand what anybody was saying! :open_mouth:

Pete.

Good post Windrush ,yes the SCOTCH EGG is a strange, type of food, to go with a square sausage, what type of sausage making machine !!!makes that.
