Just a quick hello to any of my old compadres, i worked for Robin for acouple of years at the end of the 80,s stroke 90,s, had a ball , apart from the short circle turnarounds to benelux /france when at certain times you really did,nt know where what how or why anymore, i worked with some class acts and among their number i must list Mr Geoff Stevens, who probably made me laugh more than some i could mention,among them a rogue driver turned desk pilot who did his best to keep me happy but often questioned my motivation, historically speaking it was a good old Firm. But i am glad to see the back of the long hours etc etc , the long waits, the long Johns,the long arm of the law, I did stints at a few, (many) Euro hauliers ending up in Ireland after meeting Haystacks in Athens after tipping Kodak for ACH, with my old mucker Pete Reynolds,
I got a job in Rosslare with Transcon, at that time new to P&O, and spent three years up and down and back with the best liars in the world, and the best blokes. The stories are legendary, the truth even stranger,
My best years were spent behind a wheel, and in fairness it has taught me many things, except i can never remember the sensible ones, Here,s to all my old friends and foes, Keep on Truckin.

Hi all; During research for my Astran book, I spoke to John Cooper who was a subbie during the early 1970’s. Some time later as he got his transport business up and running, he subbed for Rokold. Here are some of his photos. And a rather fetching shot of him too

So here i am parked up waiting for the morning ferry in Dublin and i am with a agency driver ! Its only bloody Roger Keen ! He sends his love and is going to give some old photos to upload . At the moment he is telling me some old war stories about you lot ( which i am enjoying !)

GNR 140V Would’ve been a perfect reg’ for the 140, rather than the 111. I do beleive GNR is a Leicester reg. Wonder where it started life 1st ?
