You can set your virtual memory, but first I need to know your physical memory size. 512MB, or 1GB or ?
From Desktop > right click on My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced
Or you could just go as far as Settings and chose > adjust for best performance.
Apart from that, try Crap Cleaner from here piriform.com/ that’ll clean up all your junk files and should make you system faster. But, note, if you want to save some cookies for auto log-ins etc, then go > Options > Cookies > move over all sites you auto log into - before you run the cleaner. If you don’t do that you will have to remember all your passwords.

I recently changed it to 500MB which is what it now says and has done for about a week - it was I think 312MB before that.
You might have to set it back to let windows chose. But I would run Crap Cleaner first see what that does. If that doesn’t work then maybe you need a auto registry repair job.
Another tool worth considering is WinMem Optimizer
First it explains what Virtual Memory is and also how to find which applications are using it and how much. That message your seeing normally comes up when you have a large number of applications open or a single application is using virtually (pun intended ) all of it.
I would also run a scan of your PC to confirm no spyware has got on there and is causing the problem.

Ran your suggestion and it seems to have worked - thank you
Did not delete any of my passwords either - well, not found any missing yet
Now it’s caused a glitch - Ive got I.E.8 and the address bar usually hides itself out the way at the top of the screen but now it don’t
I’ve reloaded I.E.8 but no joy - it does the same
I’ve only got a 15" screen and now it’s squashed smaller…
I dunno ?
Nothing should have changed you IE settings, but, IE8 is supposed to be troublesome, there’s a thread on here about it. Most say don’t have it at all IIRC.

You could go back to IE 7 and stay there or then reinstall IE8
You could reinstall IE8 after you have gone back to IE7, that might work.

ROG:
Reinstalled IE7 but the top address bar wil still not disapear
On the menu bar select View/Full Screen.
Or even better with IE7 open hit the “F11” key to go “Full Screen” and hit the “F11” key again to exit “Full Screen”, should be job done
By the way I didn’t know this before but the same works for Firefox 3, but not as well as in IE7
Done that with the F11 key but it has no effect on the address bar disapearing - that is supposed to be a feature of IE7 & IE8 to give a larger vertical viewing screen.
To make the address bar re-appear all one does is put the cursos to the top of the screen.

But mine don’t work
That’s surprising, as far as I know the address bar will only hide when IE7 is in full screen mode, it certainly works for me
Probably a dumb question but are you sure the cursor wasn’t at the top of the screen when in full screen ?
