So if I see you queuing up in a bank, post office or cafe it’s nice to know I can push straight in front of you and you mary’s will be absolutely fine with me doing that
Assuming that Mr Coundon is not a complete and utter irresponsible woman’s body part, who should not be driving anything bigger than a Transit for the sake of everybody’s safety, but instead a normal driver on a wind up, I do agree with the bit about lane 2 being blocked up by a procession of cars doing 45 being ■■■■ annoying.
As for the o/p fair play mate for coming on and being being stood corrected, …a refreshing change to not mincing off in a strop as a lot on here do when proven wrong (or call everybody a ■■■■ who does not agree with him, such as that SuperMultiprat )
So unless somebody is Traffic Police, no they shouldn’t do it.

Last night in this situation on the m6 south I thought [zb] it and straddled lanes 2 and 3 so no traffic could pass, kept pace with truck in lane 1 who duly let me in at the last minute, question is am I braking the law doing this? And does anyone else do the same??Cheers all
If you want to be traffic police go join the police. Lorries aren’t allowed in the outside lane of a 3 or more lane motorway.
Highway Code
Rule 134
You should follow the signs and road markings and get into the lane as directed. In congested road conditions do not change lanes unnecessarily. Merging in turn is recommended but only if safe and appropriate when vehicles are travelling at a very low speed, e.g. when approaching road works or a road traffic incident. It is not recommended at high speed.Rule 288 - Roadworks
Where lanes are restricted due to road works, merge in turn (See Rule 134)
So are we anymore educated by these advisory rules? Its ok getting the little rule book out and quoting blah blah blah. should/should not are advisory, must/must not are compulsory, so the highway code doesnt determine what you MUST/MUST NOT do in the above scenario. Like already posted and ofcourse is the law, you must stay out of the third lane, apart from the odd situations when you can enter the third lane, but apart from that its do as you like time.

I disagree, for every rude [zb] that jumps a queue there’s 10, 20, 30 etc who are sat in the queue. I always use my size to enforce some manners upon the [zb] if possible and I think the vast majority of car drivers appreciate it.
I hope someone buys you a children’s plastic policemans outfit for Christmas, sounds like you need it…

He makes a fair point Tris, it aint your job or place to ‘enforce’ anything on any road user.
Try another approach instead of the self appointed traffic cop thing… drive by example.
For instance, ok nowt to do with roadworks, but some ■■■■ who thinks he can drive an artic ‘almost’ overtook me this week, (AGAIN
) causing me to brake up as he kindly cut in on me.
When I caught up with him, as he lost momentum, my first instinct was to nearly shave his front grille with my back doors, to ‘teach him a lesson’ … but I raised above it, I totally over exaggerated the space I needed, signalled and got back in, he did not bother flashing me in (even though for all he new I was a newbie unsure of space awareness with all the space I left him) but that’s another argument for another day.
Even though I still thought he was a total ■■■■.
The point is the next time he caught up with me to overtake, he got the message (or it could have been the glare I gave him when alongside me ) as this time he left me ample space, and off we both went into the sunset.
I dont mind the car drivers tanking it in the outside lane, what really ■■■■■■ me off is when they go and drive Miss Daisy through the roadworks, ggrrrrrrrrrrr

What, when they drive at 40? And if you go to overtake them, they’ll move into the middle lane to block you!

To be fair, on reflection it was a stupid and irresponsible thing to do, I’ve only been driving again a year and at the time I thought “what are you doing” the comments on here confirmed I was being a complete div,
It has however made me think more, forget what others are doing and try to be that courteous driver, take it easier and read the situation ahead of me in a better way, I’m not interested in arguing on here, I’ll take people’s opinions on board and learn from it, that’s my view and if I’m wrong, which in this case I clearly was ill hold my hands up and admit to it, won’t be happening again
