Road signs!

So, on your travels you come across this sign on a road you are delivering on! When can you use this road?

I do whatever the risk assesment says

You can deliver between 10am and 4pm - it says so

1000 hrs thru to 1600 hrs
seems daft to be banned during the
quiet times

hitch:
1000 hrs thru to 1600 hrs
seems daft to be banned during the
quiet times

I read it as 1900 - 0700 is ok for all traffic

and 1000 - 1600 for loading

The sign is most certainly not compliant with the TSRGD and if they are issuing fines on that road, I am guessing you would have a good chance of having it thrown out by PATAS or whatever they are called.

Edit :- Unless they have authorization from the DFT for the variance to the standard sign

:open_mouth: WHAT SIGN :open_mouth:

don’t ask the geezer in the pic, he’s a dodgy looking fella

But it doesn’t actually say what you can or can’t do between 1900 and 0700.
So it would mean no motor vehicles during those times wouldn’t it?

In Theory yes

it means NO Motor vehicles
except for LOCAL buses and Taxis 7am to 7pm
and for LOADING 10 am to 4pm

you are not permitted to UN-load

outside the 7am to 7pm times the route is prob a pedestrian are only

It means no motor vehicles

Except buses or taxis 0700-1900

Except loading between 1000-1600

Admittedly not easy to read while driving and you can bet your bottom dollar you wouldn’t have enough time to decipher it if you have started your turn already.

It does also look like you can do what you like at night…not very clear…

F-reds

Why not ?

Just stop & block the turn, read it & reverse back causing Mayhem around you !

These silly little NIMBY’s keep putting confusing signs up all over the place, restricting access.

Just abide by the law, if it says ‘Don’t go down it’ then don’t go down it.
Play 'em at their own game. Lol.

Sign looks pretty straight forward to me. No wonder you need a hard hat and risk assessment to wipe your arse these days :unamused:

I would tip there between 10 and 4.

Or I suppose catch a bus?

Pretty straight forward meaning?

No motor vehicles between 7 am and 7 pm, except buses and taxis, and loading between 10 and 4.

In other words, if your delivery point is past that sign, and it’s between 10 and 4 or 7 pm and 7 am, crack on. If not, ■■■■ off.

Serious question with no ■■■■ taking intended, when did you last read the highway code?

And what about between 1900 and 0700? This has nothing to do with when I last read the Highway Code, I asked a simple question and their seems to be a couple of different opinions on what you can or can’t do between those times!
It was a simple question at the end of the day!

The road sign alone means NO vehicles that would be at ANY TIME
The additional signage I would say means BUS and taxi only between the hours of 7am and 7pm loading only between the hours of 10am and 4pm
so between the hours of 7PM and 7AM NO VEHICLES permitted

I felt sure it meant no entry because Evel Knievel is performing here today between 7am and 7pm, if you want in get a bus or a taxi but be quick the ambulance will be loading up between 10 and 4, he’s bound to fall off.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Got my post slightly wrong, big enough to hold my hands up, it’s motor vehicles prohibited 24/7 except for the exceptions qualified on the plate underneath
