I see someone has driven the top of the M42, parts of the M6 in Lancashire, bits of the M1, the A14 west of A45.
As for don’t need roads - we going back to rails? It just feels like it with the tramlines on the M6 near M56. All the rocking back and forth they cause makes me nostalgic for old British Rail tracks.

Love those limits especially at 3am with not another car in sight but theres a queue and a 40 limit. Can the system see dead people or summut?
Rail - yeah “we” invented it, ignored it, let it collapse then some greenies think reviving it is the new greatest idea regardless of usefulness. Until the next big idea.
Knackered - yeah seem to be 24/7 but thats night shift. Also everything hurts, good advert for new drivers.
Can’t help but notice the vast majority of road users on weekdays are solo car drivers. Maybe if it wasnt so difficult to change home people wouldn’t be commuting 30 miles a day or if job stability was a thing
Why stop at the road network? the whole country is knackered, society is knackered, everyday values we grew up with are overturned or regarded as either outdated or overdue for replacement with something cheaper, nastier or more able to be exploited to someone else’s financial advantage.
