Yes and if all of this isn’t enough - we’re all going to die!

According to the government we’re actually all going to live much longer than previous generations so pensions have to be cut.
( Except for MP’s and the employer classes ).

Really ? Last i looked my pension was due to be the same as everyone else’s pension.

Yeah well, dailymail.co.uk/news/articl … years.html

If that goes through it’ll effectively be a reduction on the overall amount

If you die of a heart attack aged 69 it’s qlsona reduction in overall amount.

Tis the chance we all take.

How do we get from a crap road network to pensions and dying

SHYTOT:
This country’s road network is absolutely knackerd

Walk more , it’s good for you , or cycle , again good for you , if you mean traffic whilst driving lorry for a living , get a job as a forkie
There are as always options

Grana Padana. Every bit as good as Parmagiano, (try it blind) but you don`t pay for the name.

plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose

It’s not the country going to the dogs, it’s just you lot getting old.

Merely paying homage, sir.

Roads can’t cope with the volume of traffic on them
Rail can’t cope with the numbers of passengers on the system never mind trying to increase the volume of freight .
Where do you start to make improvements ? Rail and road need massive investment just to provide adequate capacity. Do you increase capacity on rail before you increase capacity on the roads or vice versa ?

People going everywhere by car - school, work, doctor, shopping, holiday, weekend, visit friend/relatives. Everything far away, no local stores, no where to work locally - lose your job if you had one next door - tough luck you now get to travel 15 milels each way to your new job. 2 years later and you finally moved in closer to your new job? Too bad, the company just decided to relocate or shut down the site so off you go again commuting to hell and back oh and wherever you live the nearest big store is 5 miles away at least

And with the recent boom in warehouse to home business model there’s more trucks/vans on the roads than ever delivering individual items to people’s doorsteps cramming those residential streets as the garbage truck is squeezing around doing his 2nd visit today because they couldn’t fit all the waste crap people put out in a single run this week.

You can only build so many roads before diminishing returns kick in i.e. maintenance, bottlenecks at end destinations etc.

The standard of driving is not very good nowadays
Run red lights
don’t stop at roundabouts
don’t stop at junctions
stay in outside lane on duel carriageways
stay in centre or outside lane on motorways
mess about with phones
both cars and trucks are as bad

I’d of thought keeping it going at a r/o is a positive

Yeah screw that lame ‘‘Give way to traffic already inside roundabout’’ rule

While they are saying that a country with almost 300 people per km2 is underpopulated so we must bring in more people.
