Road Haulage CPC 2012 - Help

jrl driver:
thanks for the advice Dave,i should have said that i was looking for the book from the 2012 course…ideally from the march exam that has just been taken…

To be perfectly honest, I’d be surprised if you would find anyone prepared to let their book go. I’ve frequently had to refer to mine since taking the exam and expect to have to use it for reference many times in the future, it’s not the type of thing you have no need of once you have passed the exam.

have to agree harry,i would be doing the same thing.
as i said in another post,i still refer back to the book i have from the 2008 course i did.i’m refreshing myself with that, but as a lot of things have changed & the CPC now incorperates the international side i wanted to get ahead start on the course i will be doing later on in the year.
the guy who was the transport manager before me,never got the book until the course started & found it hard going as he had no transport experience at all(he has now left the company, this is why i am now running the fleet & have to take the CPC course)…at least i have a lot more experience than he did, but i struggled with the costings/running costs etc on the last exams i did so i have been using my old book for that side of things…i might shell out the £55 it is for a new book & get stuck into it that way…

I don’t know if I have past! I sat my international at the same time as you Harry and I’m in Tenerife at the moment and no one has called or emailed me!

If you phone the training provider they should know, and if they don’t then they can phone OCR and find out- like Kent Metro they may be unaware that the results were issued far sooner this time than usual.

Having said that, if I was in Tenerife I would just concentrate on beach/beer etc and worry about it when I got back!

Yeah I will need to give them a call tomorrow when I get back, then off to the nec Wednesday, but for now I’m heading down to breakfast with the mrs and then to the pool for the last day of sun and beer!

if anyone has an ‘EOS’ course book they don’t want & would be willing to sell it let me know.
i am taking my CPC later on this year so would it help to get up to speed & get some early tuition/revision in.

i took my CPC national in 2008 & passed the 1’st & 2’nd modules but failed on the part 4 module & never retook it as it wasn’t worth it with the firm i was working for at the time,i had paid for it myself anyway & lost interest.
the company i’m at now are putting me through it later on in the year so it will do me good to get my brain into gear again.
got the book i used in 2008 & have started to reread it as well as using the webites & other relevant info but a lot has changed since then so need to get to grips with things.

if anyone does could you drop me a pm & we could sort something out

thanks

John

I still use my book as reference in my job, I think most people will keep the book. Sorry
Liza

Got my certificates today. No mention of International - why is this?

Got my certificates today. No mention of International - why is this?

The reason that the CPC changed was to bring the UK in line with every other country in the eu, the UK was the last remaining eu country which still had a CPC exam restricting the candidate to national transport.

Having passed the 2012 exam, you are qualified to manage transport operations anywhere in the eu.

Miz t .my Certs were the same ,no mention of international pass ,just 1 cert for multiple choice ,1 cert for case study, then 1 to combine both but as you say international not mentioned ,so can only assume that it covers national and international,as the exam we sat was on the new system of combined international and national, well at least I hope that’s the way they are doing it ,you’ve got me thinking now,but near a 100% sure it’s for both.

Thanks for that Harry, yes I was thinking that after I’d posted my note and gone to bed last night. The legislation change means we are now in line with EU so there is no more National only exam.
I should have thought about it before I posted above
Cheers

I passed the international!!! Back from Tenerife yesterday night only to find my certificate was waiting for me!

I dont really want to necro an old post, but i dont want to make a fresh one either

I sat the case study re sit yesterday and felt a lot better about it. Im a lot more confident about the answering format all be it a little OTT. Fingers crossed now for the result

Fingers crossed SM, it took me two shots at it to get the International module and I found it far easier the second time around. Let us know how you got on.

Job done. Just found out this morning
