If the examination board is the same (OCR) then yes, they should be, phone the training establishment you booked the course through and ask. If they say they haven’t had the results back yet, ask them to phone OCR (OCR will tell them the results, but not you).

Good luck, let us know!

Hi Harry thanks for the reply, and congrats to you on your pass

I’m dreading phoning them, would just love to see the post man coming with an a4 envelope, does it take long to get the Certs if you have passed

I’m not sure if it will be different this time around because I sat the last non-combined exam, the format has changed now as you probably know, but from memory the certificate arrived 2-3 days after Kent Metro phoned me with the result that I had passed the National but failed the International.

Go on, give them a call, you can’t beat yourself up for the next three days!

Go on, give them a call… you know that you want to …

you have to call them, good luck Dee

Ring them, I want to know now.

To Dee, unless things have changed under the new format, they won’t actually write to you if you have failed, they only write if they have a certificate to send you. One of the other people on my course had to phone because he had heard nothing, a week after others had received their certificates. They told him then that he had failed.

So you may as well bite the bullet and phone today…

Hi Harry and Miz t, I will I’ll bite the bullet and phone I’ll let you know fingers crossed. .by the way Harry are you up and running ,just wondering how long it all takes roughly,I’m looking to do Benelux work if I can get it using long boats harwich -hoek ,Liverpool -Dublin or Belfast etc, that’s my hope but reality may be different ,Miz t do you drive yourself.

No, I advertised in the paper about a month ago so the period for environmental objections has passed and I didn’t get any, there are lots of hoops to jump through with VOSA but my application should be in today’s A’s and D’s, I’ll check later. That allows statutory bodies 14 days to object and I would hope to get a decision within a couple of weeks of that.

I spoke to my case worker at VOSA earlier today about upgrading from a National to an International licence but I think I’ll probably wait until I receive the National licence because if I apply now, although it won’t have to be re-advertised in the paper, it will have to be published in A’s and D’s and this will push back the decision by another fortnight.

My VOSA case worker has been very helpful, I’d suggest you establish contact with yours soon after your application goes in but if there’s anything else you want to know, just ask here, if I don’t know the answer I’m sure someone will.

if anyone has an ‘EOS’ course book they don’t want & would be willing to sell it let me know.
i am taking my CPC later on this year so would it help to get up to speed & get some early tuition/revision in.

i took my CPC national in 2008 & passed the 1’st & 2’nd modules but failed on the part 4 module & never retook it as it wasn’t worth it with the firm i was working for at the time,i had paid for it myself anyway & lost interest.
the company i’m at now are putting me through it later on in the year so it will do me good to get my brain into gear again.
got the book i used in 2008 & have started to reread it as well as using the webites & other relevant info but a lot has changed since then so need to get to grips with things.

if anyone does could you drop me a pm & we could sort something out

thanks

John

Hi John,

I’d like to offer you a little advice if you don’t mind…

Please consider only getting the correct book that goes with the exams that you will take.
If you do this in any other way, I’d like to point out that you might be creating an unnecessary problem for yourself.

As the law changes, the exams have to change.
OCR’s exams therefore have a slight lag, as do the course books that go with them.
If you use out-of-date books, you’ll probably have to unlearn and relearn something that could influence your chances of success in the exams, which is an extremely difficult thing to do even if you have the good fortune of becoming aware of the need for it.

I wouldn’t like to think that I’d passed up the opportunity of helping you a bit by mentioning it.

thanks for the advice Dave,i should have said that i was looking for the book from the 2012 course…ideally from the march exam that has just been taken…
i haven’t done anything on the international side of transport & as you say, laws change,i am rereading the book i had from the 2008 course i did,as some of it is still relevant.ie costings, but i was wanting the book form the 2012 course so i could get up to speed with the latest laws/changes that have gone on…
i know when i come to start my course things may have changed again but it shouldn’t be to much that i won’t be able to take it in.

cheers

John
