How are Craib to work for rivits? Tempted to throw an application at them soon, Iām a new driver though so gonna get my experience up beforehand so a donāt make a fanny of masel.
A used to speak to one of your drivers years ago when a worked at pipe center in Edinburgh, he done our feeder for years. Canny mind his second name but was him that made me go for ma licence.
Baring in mind I was a young impressionable kid at the time 15-18 he used to come in wae dirty thongs in his pockets and full of storyās of āDunfermline w anksā etc funny guy
I have already had cartlidge clean ups done on both knees, however my left knee kept giving way, got the usual sent to physio etc which did nothing bar make me sore, got sent back to the consultant who told me all he could do for me was a partial replacement as I had quite severe damage on my femur, it is a partial replacement I got on one side, it will be 3 weeks tomorrow since I got it done and I am walking already albeit not properly as yet but every day heralds an improvement. My wife is quite amazed at my recovery.
ARR Craib as far as general haulage companies go are ok, they are a bit regimental but there is never any problem getting your money out of them , if you work it, your paid it, they do not dock you breaks either. The fleet of trucks where is not as young as it used to be kept is well maintained, the trailers are all good whether it be flats or curtains and you certainly do not panic if your pulled by VOSA. I started with them on Oct 9th 2000 and wellā¦I am still there lol. Not the best job if you dont like flat trailers and covers as they have 300 or so flat trailers so roping & sheeting goes on a fair bit.

so far as I am aware a full replacement takes a fair while longer to recover from, as for two being done at the same time , I have never heard of that, must be horrendous to live with until its healed.
Hi Rivits sounds as if your healing well, i got full replacements on both knees last febuary age57 still off work looking like its going to be at least a year for me, is Hughie(shug)Gibson and Jim Rodgers still at Craibs, speedy recovery pal, Owen

Aye Owen , they are still there or at least they were before I went off sick at end of november, hope you get back on your feet pretty soon mate
Hi Rivits, Good luck with the knee. I had mine done 2 years ago total replacement was back at work after 2 month what helped was cycling most days while off.
clutch knee
whats a knee
hi rivits, hope you get back to it soon
if you donāt mind me asking and pm me if you wish, how long from the first cartilage op to the replacement?, reason I ask is I am having similar probs, both my knees are shagged and have had ops to clean and reset the knee joints but i have been told I am too young for full knee replacement, which is what i,m told i need, so i have been told i may for a few years have to keep going for key hole surgery on my knees to try and make them last a bit longer⦠btw i,m 42, Ive come off driving again as my right knee locked up on occasions as i was moving from accelerator to brake pedal, a couple of scary moments tbh⦠luckily my employer as worked with me on this and offered me alternative employmentā¦

,
I have had both knees cleaned up , trouble was I had pieces of bone & cartlidge moving around which did the damage but I had my left knee cleaned up in June 2012 then a partial replacement at the end of November, I tried umpteen knee supports but all they did was make it give way before I managed to walk 10ft, I got referred back to my consultant who told me partial replacement was my only option, I was quite amazed at this given my age of 45
Well thats another doctors line been issued for the next 4 weeks, beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel though its fair to say I am getting really fed up, funny old world, we canna be bothered with work when we are there but get really fed up when we are not!!! Oh to be rich and not give a ā ā ā ā one way or the other lol
