http://www3.scania.com/en/New-R-series/International/

what have they done to it? :grimacing:
to improve it they need to move the bunk back to the position it was in the 4 series.

looks good but not much difference.

Its just a scania nothing special about it

I have had a R for the last two years, as far as I am concerned Scania took about six steps backwards after the 4 series… :frowning: :frowning:

I run an r-cab, v8 top line and I think it’s a good piece of kit. The bed could do with being made more comfortable which they seem to have addressed. The extending of the bed isn’t a massive issue for me as I just leave the passenger seat folded down and moved forward (as a side table) so the bed can be left extended out at that end where my head goes, I don’t bother to extend the bed behind the drivers seat as my feet don’t need too much room. I don’t agree the bed should be put back where it was in the 4 series above the windscreen.

What a lot of people don’t realise is that the bed is a bit narrower as the seats are further away from the windscreen which you would thank them for if you have an accident! In a lot of other trucks you are a few inches (MAN) from the windscreen which if you ever have the misfortune to go in to the back of a trailer you will know about!

By the sounds of it they have increased the size of the fuel tanks on 6x2’s which is good as the standard 600 litre tanks are too small. The opticruise is ok if you have it set off in 3rd gear from stand still, sometimes they are programmed to set off in 1st or 2nd which does not work! I find the system ok but it is good that they have now introduced a cluthless fully auto version which is what I would go for in future. It hasn’t changed much on the outside but I like the 3 leds in the sun visor (Is this for eddie’s benefit?).

I’m not sure how many they will sell in the current climate but at least progress is being made.

i think it looks good, just what you need for 4 nights out a week.

its easy enough to program the opticrusie to set of in any gear yourself from scania settings,
