I had a DAF 2100 drawbar, A409 GMV, with the same body as the Fiat above. Because of the need for space so as to tip the cab the “luton” part of the body was virtually useless
It was still a good motor though and pulled well even when the drag was on the back but the cab was abit cramped if i took someone with me,especially if we were going away for a couple of weeks!!
The company bought a second DAF cabbed vehicle a while later this time with a full sized pod on the top instead of the poxy little luton space. No dangler hitch for this one, it was a full 2100 cubic foot body, a big old lump for a rigid.
I upset the customs coming out of Swiss in it one time when one keen eyed border / zoll officer spotted that the doors were hinged with a split pin through the bottom of every hinge bolt!!
Lots of finger wagging, head scratching and stern lectures later I was allowed to leave, no fine justa bollocking from the chef!!
Good times, I wish I had taken photos etc!!
i miss it in a way, all that is except actully ■■■■■■■ other peoples furniture around!!
Here’s a pic of my Marsden Vanplan bodied Daf 45 - (crewcab, autobox, three container body) Only owned it 2 years & still not had it signwritten Mind you the last time I had a van signwritten was 1987!
Welcome to TruckNet movingman.
Interesting looking truck you’ve got there. Do you use the crew-cab as a crew-cab or a sleeper? I’d imagine it struggles a bit when fully freighted.
The MAN is a nice tool but she is a little in practical dont you agree, see how low she is i would be constantly worried about grounding out everywhere,i suppose there is one thing good if you cant get all in the back at least the cab is big enough

I think it is on air front and back, but still
It is smart though

I wonder how many times the driver has ■■■■■■ his crew off by refusing to put it in a driveway because he didn’t want to scratch it
It is very tidy but they are workhorses and even with the best of drivers will get scratched, something that would worry me if I drove it!!

True enough jdc just give me the keys and i have got some cracking lanes in cornwall to try it out,as they say first scratch is always the deepest.
Can I post my last week’s truck here too? It’s already on the Finnish trucks thread but maybe belongs here too Just back from my first ever European run, D / B / NL and back to FIN…

This one has its share of battle scars:
Please do, and any from other trips you go on
Thats a heavy duty looking removal truck, does it pull a trailer?
