His driving was both dangerous and stupid, the sort of driving that gets all lorry drivers a bad name, but that does seem a bit harsh.
I agree it is too harsh, add to the list above that he will probably never get another job driving HGV as 99% of adverts say 6 points or less NO BANS. So his driving career is over for one stupid mistake 
unless of course he applies to Glasgow council to go on the bins and lies about the ban?
