Talk about ott. What a stupid road layout. There’s a mini roundabout near me like this (on a quieter road) and if you picture the one in the photo it’s similar but has parked cars on the left after the roundabout. I seen people regularly take it on the right and imo it’s safer to do this than go round it on the left. I’m talking cars here as said obstacle is on a 7.5t restricted road, however the road does allow access and if an artic was to do it there’d be no option but to take it on the right.
Back to the case in point if 33 drivers have done it in 24 hours it’s patently obvious that the fault primarily is with the road design. A bit like the ridiculous chicanes put in by council office workers needing to justify their pointless jobs.
And if you don’t go wrong way around it you will go over it half way most times

Listen to you two ! What a load of c r a p ! Trying to justify the manoeuvre.
The Chimpanzee was overtaking a car, in an obvious rage, disobeying traffic regulations, it doesn’t matter if it’s a blob on the road, you still need to abide by the law, same as the other 33 Chimpanzees who wrong way’d it.

As soon as night follows day up pops the professional plum plank melt with his I’m the best ever driver routine. I said the punishment was ott - and it clearly was when you look at it compared to ther punishments for far more serious crimes. I said the road layout was badly thought out that’s my opinion and you are within your rights to disagree. At no point did I say the driver did the right thing. 6 points and commensurate fine would have been a suitable punishment imho.

Which is perfectly legal with a large vehicle, but an offence for a car, he would have probably faced a lesser punishment if that roundabout didnt have an island with a keep left bollard on it and a solid white line on his side after it!
How many offences did that driver commit on that video, because it wasnt just 1, and deserved all that he got.
I used to work for those clowns and they run you into the ground which is why I left, that roundabout gets cut up by everyone which doesn’t make it right but he was unlucky and got caught. They encourage that sort of driving then don’t back you up when the ■■■■ hits the fan and They shafted him and he ended up with a harsh sentence

That answers my earlier question.
No it doesn’t 1 post and you take it as gospel, gave you more credit than that,by the way I know that roundabout and it is crap, thank you.

Have you worked for many tipper firms? Ignoring crap drivers behaviour until something goes wrong is very common. Just search Dennis Putz as a prime example.
I’m not going to defend that driver, it was totally reckless, there was no other reason for him to do that, other than that he wanted to get past that car. Only the actions of the Focus driver coming in the opposite direction(clearly seen braking hard), prevented a much more serious incident.
Occasionally, in an HGV it is necessary to take a mini island on the wrong side, it must be done with caution and for legitimate reason, such as an obstruction (badly parked vehicle) preventing any possibility to pass, though it is probably still illegal.
The Turners Hill Dangerous Driving Action Group was set up by resident David Pawsey, who captured 33 vehicles going the wrong way around the roundabout in just 24 hours
Though this might suggest that the road layout needs a rethink, before someone is seriously hurt, or worse
I can’t believe that some so called professional vocational drivers on here think that this idiot has been harshly delt with.its dangerous irresponsible and idiotic, shame its not a life ban

I don’t dispute that the driver was a prick, but I doubt he was sacked because of his driving, he was sacked because he got caught and because his employer was humiliated in the media. If he hadn’t been dashcammed, he’d still be charging about like an idiot no matter how many times someone rang up to complain about him. I’ve seen and worked with many idiotic stereotypical tipper drivers who keep their jobs despite their low standards being widely known.
I think the sentence was about right - He pleaded guilty to Dangerous Driving and could have been put inside for two years straight away. He also ticked several of the boxes for “aggravating factors” - i.e. tailgating, using the size of his vehicle to intimidate others, the prolonged nature of the offence (the offending went on for some distance), and the fact he was a “professional driver” so should have been demonstrating a high standard of driving.
A prime example of DLAC - hopefully he will get the message and find some alternative employment.

I have worked for a couple of tipper firms and they are the worst. I have given up on tippers and drive roll n off now it’s not as stressful
is it not a case of from the frying pan into the fire?..
