Iv been barred twice from our local drive thru, 1st time i reversed thru cause my window was stuck, 2nd time when we had our own little “nova crew”. Just as the young lass was passing food to my mate i rammed him (young and stupid i know) he had his foot on the brake i had mine flat on the gas. Endless amounts of tyre smoke and squeal. The manager gave us both 60seconds to leave the premises before the police was called! He still tells everyone we meet that i owe him a big mac meal from about 10 years ago!
Every time I’ve turned up at a drive-thru in the middle of the night on foot, the sitdown restaraunt bit was always open, so I’d go in there to be served, not stand at the megaphone bit upsetting the traffic behind me.
Come to think of it, isn’t there a law saying that if an establishment serves open-topped drinks, then it must also provide a toilet?
That toilet would not be available if the restaraunt bit was closed, with the drive-thru window on it’s own being open. The drinks served there are not in sealed cans or plastic bottles, so the restaraunt sit down bit must surely be open?
The whole thing sounds like Newark=Pillock to me, as I don’t get any problems going into a place except in the City where they won’t serve people in overalls.

When they first changed a few to 24hr, it was just the drive through part, and I think a few still are just the drive through part, not sure about the legalities.
I suppose if one wants some kind of guarantee of getting served, you could always don your best checkered scarf, & c’mon Eileen dungerees, plod straight upto whoever is serving, mutter something like 'kin chips" with your best brudder accent, and throw a handfull of change at them, as if you’d just broke a £20 note on the dodgems…
They’d be afraid NOT to serve you, 'cos you’ve got more rights than anyone else in England from what we see in the news eh?
If you visit the “resturant” at Shadwell all there is is a drive through and a walk up to/through bit, there isn’t actually anywhere to sit inside there at all lol.

I don’t have a problem with this. If your not in a vehicle that fits in the drive through, you shouldn’t get served. Imagine if there was a mix of cars and people on foot. First hint of an accident and McD’s would get sued for millions.
My old man’s 91 and uses the drive through at Weston Super Mare on his mobility scooter he looks a right prat sat in between the cars, but they serve him no problem, I think it maybe just to get rid of him, he gives them plenty of abuse.
I go on foot all the time at Bassetts pole have never had any problems.
He was obviously being ■■■■ about it, was there a height limit? Otherwise I would have dropped my trailer and gone through in the unit.

I can’t work out why people don’t ‘get’ this.
Totally disagree! At 3am in the morning there are very few, if any, cars about so what is the problem parking nearby and going in on foot. I and many other lorry drivers in the early hours park opposite the one at the junction of the A5 and A4601 at Cannock (below) and walk over the grass to the driver through. They have always served us there no problem even if you just want a cup of coffee.
This is what a banger driver, that races @ our local track done one night after a meeting. When he was refused to get served whilst walking up to the window he unloaded his banger off the lorry & drove through, job done
A friend of mine got served when he said he’d drive thru if they were ‘sure’. He had a dd on at the time so he simply blocked the entrance while he jumped out to ‘have a look’ and the cars all started to bugger off somewhere else…they soon served him then.
Mind you, still don’t get why you’d want to eat McD’s. The two people I know that have ever worked there (in their yoof!), loved the stuff - until they’d actually worked there. Now neither of them will touch it…
