if you could stop yourself thinking of me doing stuff to myself for long enough, then there might just be enough capacity left to think - maybe this fella has just passed his test, after all, all driving gods were not born a driving god. or maybe he’s usually better than you, but just having a bad day, even driving gods have bad days. or maybe somewhere in between the two? the fact you’ve been sat there 4 hours is more than likely nothing to do with struggling driver, so why take it out on him. is the yard that dirty?

that’s it, i’ve finished now

Well said mate, even when talking to a Knob …

sammy:
Sitting on one of their bays as I type slow as [zb]!! Watching a driver trying to reverse on to a tight bay, better be careful or he’ll be getting a bill

come on then sammy big mouth i was in the yard at 5.30 today (rb tramper)

so which bay was u on n which bay was he struggling with

lets see if u are all mouth or full of (ZB)

In fairness I shouldn’t of said the driver couldn’t drive, I’m sure he’s a very capable driver it was probably the flood lights over the bay that blinded him. I was parked over beside the wash waiting on a bay and he was reversing onto a bay at store 3. No offence meant, I took exception to that knob Stevie saying my first post was irrelevant. Who the ■■■■ are you to say what’s relevant or not? It’s easy to be rude when your hiding behind a computer screen. For the record I would never watch another driver struggle whether it’s reversing or pulling a pallet but by the time I got my boots and jacket back on and walked across the yard he would be have been on. My first post was a tounge in cheek comment about their drivers supposedly paying for any damage, didn’t think my comment would get dissected by some self righteous prick.

stevieboy308:

sammy:
Here is another thought Stevie, go [zb] yourself. Not bad enough that I’m left sitting here for the last 4 hours but while I’m waiting I’ve to direct traffic in the yard? Not my fault he’s a crap driver. Maybe I’ll go ask for a brush and sweep the yard while I’m at it.

True…

Or, if the rumours were true (which I believe they’re not) about drivers paying for damage, he may just be being extra carefull after having 1 of those moments??

touch wood never hit anything reversing but I can see how it could easily happen in some places, especially with a fridge or something with a long overhang at the arse end.

I’ve done most of my work on containers, and they don’t really have an overhang unless you’ve got a 45 footer on (rare), and the trailers are only 40’ and ■■■■ easy to reverse (unless you’ve got a 20 on and shrunk it, then they’re a bloody nightmare)

sammy:
I took exception to that knob Stevie saying my first post was irrelevant. Who the [zb] are you to say what’s relevant or not?

this isn’t china.

i never said it was irrelevant

stevieboy308:
pretty much irrelevant

there’s a difference.

it’s also the reason you can reply to why it was relevant if you want, simply suggest i go pleasure myself, both or neither. this is what happens on forums.

4 : 1 to you, i make it.

i also don’t think it’s rude to say someone’s post is pretty much irrelevant, if that’s what i believe. go read your first post back, i don’t think you’ve done yourself any favours.

I take it from that well thought out response that you actually agree with me.

Stevie

told ya

you never did tell just how dirty the yard was

Blunder Man:
s what I was told at the interview…but of course conor the know it all speaks, but then again as he is so fond of telling everybody else “you are full of it” an head bigger than Birkenhead.

They probably told you it because it was obvious you’re one of those useless tw@ts who can’t even go 100 yards without running into something. I’ve not been in a wagon for 3 years and 3 months now and I bet I could still out reverse a useless halfwit like you.

But as you’re a braindead halfwit, I’ll explain what they actually said. They said that if the damage was due to driver negligence you’d get billed. Reverse into something because you couldn’t be arsed to get out and see if there was anything behind you and you’ll get a bill. So if you don’t drive like a knob you’ll not get a bill. Whilst its not rocket science to work out what was meant, it is obviously beyond your limited IQ.

If you want to know if I am right ring and ask, Conor is a failed driver who cant even do a shunting job at ES because everybody but him is in the wrong.

Wow, how imaginative. The fact you have to regurgitate something someone else who wasn’t there and had absolutely no idea what happened said just about sums up how braindead you are. When someone asks you something do you go “baa” like the sheep you are?

You should be called “Dumber Man”. Its knobs like you that give Joe Public the opinion that all lorry drivers are knuckle dragging retards. Care to have a go at posting to a standard that even a primary school pupil is capable of or are you truly thicker than a 10 year old?

there’s a lot of personal attacks going on in this thread , can I suggest that you all refresh your memories of our rules and stop them !

If it carries on you can wave bye to this thread

Who rattled your cage? It’s only just starting to get interesting.

Driver negligence, do they state how far they are goin to take driver negligence? Unless it was in black and white I wouldn’t chance workin for an outfit like that, you could have a genuine accident and then they chase you lookin for money and you ain’t got a leg to stand on coz you signed up to it

Well hopefully i can shed some light on this. As an RB driver ive just searched through my contract of employment an also my drivers handbook which is signed for and makes up part of your contract, towards the back of the handbook there is a section which reads…

  1. The following provision is an express written term of your contract of employment:-

Any loss or damage to equipment/property or vehicles which is caused by an employee of Reed Boardall, which may be the result of your negligent behaviour or your unsatisfactory standards of work could result in you being liable to reimburse Reed Boardall for cost incurred to a maximum of £1000.00. Deductions will be made from pay on a weekly basis, only with prior signed consent from both parties. Should an employee leave before the agreed payment is made any outstanding sum will be deducted from your final salary.

The maximum weekly deduction we would expect from an employee would be £50.00 per week.

Hope this help :sunglasses:

well i would not except that one iota. and why people except it is beyond me.

But surely the vast majority of accidents caused by the driver, then the would’ve been negligent? And if someone does something deliberately then that’s criminal damage. People are always going to make mistakes so it will / should be incorporated into the rates they charge.

What happens if you don’t agree to pay?

Stevie

Cant say i agree with it but it wouldnt, or should i say didnt, put me off taking a job there. :sunglasses:

it would me, that’s not to say i wouldn’t work there if there was nothing else, but it’d have to be nothing else and that’s not a lack of faith of my abilities. everybody makes mistakes, if you don’t accept that, then don’t employ people.

Thing is when i took the job i had no class 1 experience, theres next to no artic jobs round here and the few that pop up are quickly taken by experienced drivers. So to get the experience i want an also drive the wagons i want i took the job there, left a decent tipper job to go there too. But now im there im probably one of the few who will come on here and say good things about RB, I really dont get why people have to come on forums and whinge an whine about how sh#t a company is. There are that many drivers at RB who could an probably would if given the chance, sit in the drivers room all day long an moan about the place, well to me if your at that stage you need to get out.
So its not the best place to work or the best paid, but you are made well aware of how things work before you accept any job offer. Yeah, in a few years when ive got more experience maybe i can be a bit more choosy and say actually, a company that charges for damage,no thanks. But at the minute im pretty happy at RB believe it or not. I get left alone, the work is a doddle and the kit is decent. Im paid on time every week, so what else matters. As i said the paying for damages is far from ideal but for me, as a new C+E driver, its given me that extra bit of caution to think, hang on maybe i should actually get out an check im not going to hit anything.
