I can’t believe it is nothing more than a minor detail John,the “powers that be” do take a delight in firing a spanner into the works of decent operators,I know,they tried it with me on a few occaisions,and failed :open_mouth: :open_mouth: .But it will be interesting to learn more which ,no doubt,the grape vine will soon disclose.All the same,I have met David Irlam on a number of occaisions and IMO he is a very decent bloke,quite different to the “fast eddie” mob so I’m at a loss to understand what this set back could be,UNLESS,of course,HE WAS TRYING TO TAKE OVER “fast eddie” and he had Tink and Wills down as Co Directors :blush: :blush: :blush: .Well only an idea :wink: :wink: Cheers Dennis.

Next question,there was a photo on this site of a Red Lorries.com DAF,quite clearly running on the road,was this only a “mock up” or was it running on an interim O/Licence ? Cheers Dennis.

Allegedly several years before th’irlams got into bed wi th’stobbies, what was considered a very healthy offer was made by the dingle dangle group and it would have been their first major foothold in the UK (they later went on to acquire Salvesens) Apparently, some time before that, it was banded about that the green lot had already helped to assist the red lot out when they had run into a spot of bother with cahflow and had struggled to pay drivers wages and fuel bills (they both had similar interests customer wise and didn’t step on each others toes) Years later the green bought out the red for (was it?) 60 million cash when supposedly dingle dangle had supposedly offered over 90 some years before…hmmm :question:
