I was brought home today on the back of another truck - lets not go into the why’s about it - just to say i am disowned and sacked AGAIN
What should i have done with my tacho ?
I left it in my unit on other work - dad said i should have put the card in the recovery unit (one of ours) as I could have come back as POA as I was 2nd man - this led to the usual friendly banter that got me sacked !
You can tell how bad it is… thinking of giving one of the bus companies a ring to see if they want someone to drive the ring and ride… knowing my luck I will get dad as my first pick up on that too !
Tbh Jensen I’d have done just what you did except I’d have put it on break.
I certainly wouldn’t have put in slot two of the wrecker, firstly because I doubt there’d be a card in slot one to start with, and secondly you aren’t really 2nd manning are you? You’re not doing the actual recovery, you’re only there as an unwilling participant!

just put it on break and then put it in your pocket, I am sorry but I don’t understand why people get so wound up about it, if you where not doing any work break is fine, simple as. mr vosa wouldn’t even bat an eyelid, I can’t be assed to write any more
If you were given a suspended tow on the back of a wrecker and the axle half-shaft was removed then the tachograph won’t have recorded any movement anyway.
I know, but were expecting a visit from the nice men at some point - so i was trying to make sure I was doing things by the book - this is all a kick off from that issue with the drivers DCPC intial qual the other week, which led to a few other issues

You sound like a right pain in the ■■■.
I wonder how you would fare at a company where your dad isn’t the boss?

I agree. I wonder if the name Jenson Button is used because he liked racing around like an idiot and causing damage??

You could have actually used rest.
I reckon it won’t be long before your dad works out its cheaper to pay someone else to drive your truck.
I cant win - if i go to work for another company i am disowned because i am being disloyal - if i work for dad i get sacked and disowned …
If i ask a question in real life, i get taken the **** out of as i should know as i am the bosses son…somehow i am expected to know the whole world inside out ! so any other suggestions as to where to go for some help and advice or do i just give up, act like i am the bosses son, and get everything wrong ■■
The issue with the DCPC card was not me, it was one of our drivers who passed his C test in Aug 2012… the enforcing officer insisted that he was driving illegally as he did not have his intial driver qualification card - even though he had got his C1 grandfather rights… we had a bit of a ding dong at the side of the road… this led to the driver having a few issues picked up, which in turn has lead to being informed we are due a visit.
Which in turn led to me trying to do everything by the book…
