it’ll prob be covered by cctv as most managed roads have them fitted and when they go into action they get monitored a bit more for safety of the workforce and services or victims of the incident …
If you feel that strong you can still send it in to the Police force area stating date time location etc, They have started paying attention what people send in now …

It’s about time this so called Highways Agency were held accountable to some governing body and fined for their total and utter incompetence they are a disgrace!!

I can understand your fustration but have you read aĺl of the thread? Also, read the one about the fruit lorry on the M20 and the other recent one about the M6 closure. The HATO’s who post here have replied with valid reasons to your irks (except the closure signs for the wrong direction)

The stats all point towards the longest and most disruptive incidents being caused by incidents where a HGV is involved, usually rearending or upending

I have seen data with the info which pinpoints which vehicle breaks down, including how frequently, inluding if it’s live lane or not with the associated impact on other motorists/travellers.

The education/enforcement strategies will bear that in mind when rolling initiatives out.

I too have seen a VMS saying services had no fuel but you had already passed it, simple mistake to make, I am sure truckers have never reversed up to a bay and forgotten to open their doors first or put the incorrect manual entry in.

I suppose it’s better than one of the others that got smacked in ■■■■■■■■

It was gust of wind that blew a heavy over taking out one of our cars - thankfully both officers were out of the car dealing with another blow over. We had 9 in half an hour in 20 miles!!!

Sorry Boss,
I saw the pictures of ‘that one’ down the banking.
I bet there were high winds warnings in place :sunglasses:

I was referring to the one that went through all the speed restrictions, red x’s, closures, cones and lights before hitting the Hato vehicle ‘trying’ to protect a tyre fitter doing a tyre change, somewhere by the tickled trout if i remember rightly.

I suppose if all offside tyre changes were a ‘lift & shift’ where possible to prevent the danger and delays of lane closures there would be some moaning on here at the ‘individual’ cost rather than the’overall’ cost :stuck_out_tongue:

Pm me your work email if you want to see the ’ in vehicle’ camera trial near miss, and have a change of undies ready

Why not put it on here ?

Why not put it on here ?

From the 1st august,

Big Jase:
I did a lane 1 for a truck tyre change today. You know how many professional drivers chose to leave it till the last minute at 56 to pull out nearly hitting our kit and car? Disgraceful, and to call themselves “professionals”.

speedyguy:
If i had a way to post a short video on here with an excellent example of the above it would be here, The truck hit all the kit and pretty much took the reflective layer off the battenburg it was that close, all on film, even better there was a BIB car just behind them in lane 3  when he/she did it and clattered debris all over the carriageway. I suppose it’s better than one of the others that got smacked in ■■■■■■■■

I did read somewhere that it has to be uploaded to Youbube and a link posted i may get someone to upload it one day.

Sorry, short span of attention.

Having read the whole of this thread it seems there are 2 distinct categories of truck drivers:

  1. Those who try their best to drive by the Highway Code & obey the law.

  2. Those who think they are a law unto themselves.

I wonder which group has the most points on their license?
