I like this Albert, with every post you make it clearer why you can’t find a job. It shows all the other newbies what not to do and how not to act.
Very educational, a clear example of the attitude behaviour negativity cycle and how it affects your job prospects.
Thank you Albert for a wonderful contribution to this section of Trucknet.
Sorry i must applogise ,i only just realised your a woman.

Albert1:
My attitude is start as you mean to go on.i am in this to earn cash,For me . not bend over because some of you have.i think you forget that in my life i come first ,without me my kids dont feed .i have a strong self worth attitude ,that will not change to suit you lot ,or any one else ! take it from me ,this is MY personnal feedback for new wannabes .
Take it or leave it.I could not give a turd what you boring no alls think of my attitude
The worlds full of snivelling sheep as it is .
Just out of interest you say your a welder, did you walk straight into a job doing that or do an apprenticeship/college route?
If you walked straight in lucky you, bit like you say about some of the earlier responses you got.
You are starting again and what you think your worth probably doesn’t match others. You need to effectively do an apprenticeship to show what your worth. If you won’t do that then I expect you will be welding the rest of your life as driving, plumbing or sparks won’t be keen to take someone with no experience if they can get someone else with it.
I think its crazy that someone of your age and experience expected to walk in to a good job and top money straight off. A 20 something maybe but no-one older
Self taught welder ,Walked straight into my own business .also spent many years business hopping earning my money.
As for driving , passed my test in 1987 when tests were tests and those examiners were not friendly like todays lot are ,They tried to catch you out on every street ! Anyway ,
Forklift licence ,Drove 7.5 tonne tippers on and off sites, building playgrounds with heavy plant
Drive my good pals miltary vehicles ,Nothing that has power steering nothing below 5tonnes
I can drive pal.im not a green office wally who just started driving.
I have a solid CV .I DO NOT EXPECT THE TOP PAID JOB WHAT ARE YOU WAFFLING ON ABOUT
THIS INDUSTRY HAS A MASDIVE FLAW .ITS THE DRIVERS DEVIDED AND CONQUERED
take my advice ignore some of these no alls .
You start your first post saying that you are not happy only being offered £10 rather than £12.50 as your new. I have seen a lot of jobs advertised for less than that with 2 years experience. Certainly seems to me like you want the top money. Maybe that’s me taking it wrong.
Regards all this driving you “have done” how much is recent and documented? Thats what the insurance will want. If its not documented it didn’t happen. That’s what they will say.
Even if it is all documented you have nothing regards C&E. So maybe you can drive an artic, or maybe you can’t? You are “a green wally who just started driving”. You should take a job to get a start and then worry about chasing the money in a few months with some “relevant” experience. If your as good as you make out you will have no problem.
Finally if you come across with even half the attitude in an interview that you do on here you will have no hope as you come across like someone who knows it all with no experience to back it up
Albert, in my post above I mentioned 9 companies Some I called, some I didn’t bother with. Your response was not, “I spoke to all of them and this is the reason why I don’t want to work there”, your response was “BS” coupled with your regular attitude.
This shows me, and everyone else here that your effort in obtaining gainful employment has been poor at best.
Poor effort for a troll, but at least we turned it around in best TN style and made something educational out of it.
Albert you say you’ve had experience on plant etc did you not fancy getting any tickets for some machines?
Probably a little easier to get a foot in the door or did it just not interest you? Granted its agency adds but rates of £15ph upwards for 360 operators. Again there the catch 22 of experience with that i guess
Ergot2005:
Well im 30 odd
i do long hours yes but earn well over 30k a year i’m a tramper because i choose to be i enjoy my job
I’ve had my useless letters added on my licence for 5 months. I believe i have done very well so far with where i have got so far in my new career
i used to earn 27k a year i used to work EVERY saturday and 10 hour shifts every week day. but hated the job
I think if you’r proactive and want a job enough in this industry then its more then possible
Do you have a solid CV, cover letter, attitude, with the well kept appearance? have you been to any interviews? offer to go out on Saturdays as a helper SHOCK HORROR FOR FREE get that experience on your cv WEEKEND work at such and such. I wanted it! i did! it iv’e succeeded!!
depends on how much you want it. i used all of my families savings but already this is back in the pot and i’m now able to build this even higher then it once was
perhaps i’m just lucky
Turns out everyone who puts the effort in is “lucky” according to this guy… lucky that we went above and beyond to source the work, lucky that when the work arises we presented ourselves well, lucky we was punctual, lucky that we did the job well and to a good standard that we got noticed for the right reasons, lucky that we stuck at it when it gets hard and really alls it is, is that we’re just plain lucky to not be a self pitied old man with a attitude problem…

I posted this as a bit a feedback type thread for new wannabies ,in the correct forum.this forum has a few real opinionated bores sadly, who should stay in the ,we have conquered arguing on the internet forums …
I thought it was just me out of work ,Lets face it why are such no alls sat online arguing with a mere loser doley ?
Now someone is unhappy maybe Albert1 should go pick his toys up and put them back in his pram.I would not give you a job your attitude is very poor and maybe try a bit harder and you will get a job.
Or you could have a crap in your hands and clap them together and stop moaning ffs.

Whats going to happen with the experience issue this time? Or relying on it being your mate get you started?
Maybe you include me in the “bull in china shop” but I thought I raised some valid points. Maybe you just mean the others? Never mind Im not bothered either way but do feel a bit left out that you don’t respond to my points . Don’t think the others have been unreasonable for the record.
Regards the “arguing with a mere loser doley” some would like to present a balance to your post. It what forums are for, to debate… Seems that your experience is the exception but if no one responds newbies looking won’t know that.
Also I am not out of work, I work nights and daytime tv is rubbish so looking round on here. The others I don’t know but expect they are on breaks, weekly rests etc?
Who knows maybe you should get off here and spend some time looking for that job you want so much?
If you do get on them good luck, on the plus side you’ve got your HGV as well so if they’ve got Lorries even 7.5 tonners it’ll all count as experience. where i used to work fella had his class 2 but was fairly young under 25 i’m sure, so couldn’t easily get a job driving but when working with us,landscaping/landscape maintenance he did end up driving the works 7.5 tonner occasionally which he could then claim as experience.
As others have said it may take time but you could get there.
There is jobs out there for those with little experience. I was in the army for 5 years then became a postie for 10. I’ve just gained my first driving job as a c+e car transporter. People have told me it’s hard, I’m a grafter and I will make it work as I’ve got a young family to keep. I enjoy driving and I love cars so it’s a win win for me. I know im very lucky to get such a start but I was prepared for my interview and assessment. All good things come to those who wait. I’m 29 and look forward to many years on the road.
this guy is class…poor trolling attempt,or bad attitude by of the week…you must be able to buy pints of instant bumhole in the local pubs in coventry now .keep it up and dont get too repetitive so itl be good for at least 5 pages.
eagerbeaver:
I believe Albert when he says he has plant experience.
Because he is a plant pot.
class
oh and albert i’m on here because i was sacked from my job and now have plenty of time… But don’t feel to sorry for me as i walked straight into another job… Dunno how i managed that though probably just felt sorry for my self on the sofa
Its alright chaps, anyone who has any kind of opinion different to Albert is labelled a troll/a bore/an office boy. Its old hat now.
FYI Albert, we just took on a fella in his 40’s, with no experience, on an hourly rate that will see him earn 30k for 50 hours a week, no night out money though as he sleeps in his own bed every night, sorry.
Seems some people see it as soon as you pass your hgv you HAVE to be given the best job,you don’t you get what you can get experience then go for a job you want,
All to typical of today’s society " I want I want " but don’t want to get off their arses to get it ■■■■ it up buttercup go find a job enough out there.
Btw I have experience of plant bought roses last week and they are still alive so I deserve the best truck in the yard good runs loads of money and overtime lol
