Sainsburys - Sherburn in Elmet. Arrived 0830 (booked in 0900) 20 pallets. In and out by 0905.
Netto - Sth Elmsall. Self tip so if you’re there for hours, it’s your own fault! Usually in and out within an hour.
Sainsburys - Waltham Point. Not too bad if you’ve got a curtainsider. Don’t know about chilled or ambient.
Co-Op - Wellington. Not too bad as RDC’s go. You can wait in your cab and they are pretty quick.
Shame
Any Morrisons
Any Booker
Sainsburys - Hams Hall. 2 hours to tip ONE pallet!
Somerfield (ambient) - Bridgwater. Just don’t make any plans if you go there. You’ll always run out of time.

‘… idiot politicians … have ruined the country in the last 6 years…’
Only six years?
Since ‘…idiots…’ also fooled us into the Common market in the 70’s - who has re-voted Euro-loving governments ever since?
True, but it does seem to have got much worse lately for some reason
They are taking ‘us’ for fools because we are displaying the characteristics of fools.
How come?
We have believed the political (and BBC?) drip-fed spin that ‘diversity is good’ whereas in reality ‘we’ have become so disenfranchised from what ‘we’ were accustomed to a decade ago that we now find it hard to know our place within their vision of ‘New Britain’ that we’ve had no democratic input about.
As a result, ‘they’ are now pulling-off liberties beyond their wildest dreams, ie, the government has thrown away our democracy with the ghastly Lisbon Treaty (which we, via the BBC, shrug at).
Meanwhile, Brown is able re-invent (or lie?) his way through the Chilcot Enquiry (led by a chairman without a single military subject matter expert on hand) as ‘we’ sit here numb with disbelief that what goes on around us is actually for real whilst our youngsters are pitilessly continue dying for this valueless pap (ie, see the ‘news’) in a hopeless & foreign land.
But back on-thread, employers are no longer encouraged to see us as human beings but as ‘human (and expendable) resources’ to be manipulated/ignored at random as long as a profit shows up for the shareholder (see Cadbury, etc).
Haven’t done RDC’s in years but from memory Asda Grangemouth was pretty good. It was a regular load, (bog-roll’s ), booked in for 9pm every night and the day-shift would usually tip you before they knocked off.
It’ll be interesting when I return back to work, if I get an RDC where you’re expected to tip yourself.
I’m disabled and can’t use a pump-truck and if any Netto/Lidl/Morrisons staff get lippy, and give me the ‘tip it or you’re banned’ pish…I’ll just flash my disabled blue-badge at them and tell them to eff off!!
dont do a lot of deliviers to RDC’s thank goodness but the one place we do go to a lot and takes the honours as to being the worst place to deliver to is Amazon Swansea they are so full of thier own importance
i went to somerfield at st helens. nice enough staff, no handing keys in, quickish tip, 10 minutes for paperwork.
toilets had no bog role, no lock, no light, the place was filthy. with a sign saying that drivers had vandalised the place. don’t they know that there are such things as wear and tear, and maintenance?
if a bulb blows, or the toilet dosn’t flush at home, i don’t tell the kids that it is their fault, and they will have to live with it, i accept that things wear out and deal with it.
Somerfields Bridgwater but maybe just lucky was a 0630 delivery used to get in there at 0630 go on a bay go get my breakfast come read the paper back for 0700 all done like clockwork three or two times a week.
Tesco Livingston again maybe lucky was the old building across the road supposed to be a 0430 delivery but they were desperate for the stuff i was bringing up from Wincanton Gloucester so could come in anytime, so usually about 0230 and was always put straight on a bay. Tipped in 30mins again. Was a prob with the POD one night and would have to wait till 0600 at the earlist said really wanted back to get some sleep, he said no worries i’m on tomorow night i’ll make sure your other driver gets them and he did, so i could head off.
Asda Grangemouth always a fast tip.
Worst
Somerfields East Kilbride, always in for a really long wait. Had a 0630 delivery there somthing like six pallets of Bud, got there at 0615, was about 6 trucks in front of me outside the gates. Went up to gatehouse told no one was getting in till 0800. Was 1130 by the time i got tipped and outta there. Othertimes been in the late afternoon drove striaght in a few trucks in front thinking great will be in and out fast and spent hours. Watched them once unload 10 pallets and it took hours, flt driver would take off a pallet then go away chat to his mate for 10mins, then come back do another pallet.
Place near Lichfield can’t remember the name, used to occasionally have one or two pallets for them, usually had a tip in Bridgwater or Huntingdon for 0630, so used to go in there about 0130 and they said they didn’t tip till 0600, but the guy said since its only one pallet you could take it off yourself and i’ll quickly check it sign paper work and off you go. Did this most times i went in then it changed was a new guy on and would not budge made me sit till 0600 then took 40mins to take off one pallet, luckly was very occasionally went there.
Asda Lutterworth-was in here 2 weeks ago, chilled, booking was midnight and I got there just after 7:30 pm. No bollox about too early, straight in and dealt with a normal person who was friendly enough. 45 minutes and 22 pallets later and I was on the road again! Used the loo which was pretty good.
tesco avonmouth might have been good for the first couple of weeks but its not so hot at the moment 4.5 hrs to tip 12plts and i was one of many on sunday to suffer the wait and to top it off the canteen is a no go zone for outside drivers.

i think all amazon rdcs are the same, the one up in glenrothes is full of a bunch of {zb}s who take hours to tip and wont take deliveries in the afternoon

Lads, please re-read this thread. now ask your mates who don’t work in transport if they’d put up with your treatment ! I THINK NOT, why do you?

NO. I’m saying stop putting up with it!
Maybe see the current ‘Which Union’ thread - where some are keen for unity, others less so and a few are only looking out for Jack.
Anyone done coop ■■■■■■■■■■■ recently ive heard its fun and games, apparently you can watch 2 dvds there and still be waiting to be tipped Got 3 failed coops in the yard booked in for monday because the night drivers had to pull away to get back to the depot in under 15 hours. So its us brave dayshift mortals that have been tasked with this mission. I’ll be taking a full flask, a full packet of biscuits and an extra sandwich.
Shame -
Tesco Chepstow - 6 hours to tip 6 pallets then another 2 hrs to find a pallet of returns
Tesco Harlow - waiting room too small, normally run round to the canteen as i know the catering manager there
Praise -
Tesco Peterborough - turned up 36 hours early and let me straight in and was tipped in half hour for a full load of 26 pallets.
Asda erith - quick tip, only just handed me keys in and i was tipped
Wilkinsons - magor & newark - great staff quick tip and able to use facilties - even allowed to park on site one night as i was out of hours
Sainsburys swan valley - tipped before booking time - waiting room is bareable
a mix of good & bad -
waitrose aylesford - chill are good, frv depends on how busy they have been and if you hit shift change
waitrose Bracknell - Chill - depends what time of day and who is running the bays - have sat in there 3 hours for 10 pallets other times in and out in 10 minutes
waitrose Brinklow - chill normally quick but frv again can be very slow, not allowed to use the canteen anymore
waitrose bardon - we have an advantage there are we have a stand trailer there so its drop & swap if its empty
