On subject of Evans, I remember when he was Gazza’s best mate when it was an advantage to his oversize ego to be seen with a, if not the, top England player, and the kudos that it brought. After reading the paper today about Gazza I reckon he could do with a good mate today, especially one experienced in overcoming alcoholism, but I reckon Evans wouldn’t get anything out of it for himself now, so he is giving him a wide berth, nothing to do with R2, just don’t like Evans and just my opinion.
a very true word, where’s your friends when you need them on the radio 2 breakfast show looking the other way.
btw i love the simon mayo drivetime… long may he rein.
voodoo1:
Kerrang radio for loz and keith if i can
If not, Radio 1 (not with grimmy tho)
If oxford way Jack FM is pretty funny (we play what we want and we don’t care)
Lastly heart or capital.
Jack FM Oxford has had a drop in listeners according to local paper, so’s Heart (which pretends to be local but comes from Reading). Jacks’ “playing what we want” means “play the same cds in the same order.” You can predict what song’s coming on next, still better than the crap on Radio Oxford (which caters for those in care homes).
robroy:
Kick out Vanessa Feltz, and get Sara Cox, replace Evans with Chris Moyles, keep Ken Bruce, replace Vine with Nicky Campbell on the discussion/music show (reckon he might be more trucker friendly) replace Steve Wright with Danny Baker, keep Simon Mayo…job sorted
If you think Feltz is bad listen to Anneka Rice Sat AM, eg, today “My favourite word is snowdrop, ring and tell me what yours is” …yeh right
jessicas dad:
I detest steve wright and his stupid impressions, chris evans is too far up his own arse and constantly milking one off over moria stewart who has far too much to say as well.
Couldnt agree more regarding the sucking up to Moira. Coz of al the age discrimination who har when she was replaced its as if Chris Evans is overly flirtin with her just to make up for it. Atleast they dont have that headline claptrap where Moira always won.
I have actually increased the Data allowance on my Droid phone so I can listen to Radio 2 all day long every day (except when the Archers are on). It was 2gb per month, now it’s 6gb per month. I actually stole my step sons unlimited allowance and put a parental block on his phone When he goes down to Mc Donalds and gets a part time job instead of sitting on his ■■■ looking at a lap top.
GCR2ERF:
A digital radio is a must - Radcliffe & Maconie on ‘6 records’, 1.00 - 4.00!
Absolutely this. Shaun Keaveny on the breakfast show is fantastic too. BBC 6Music is great.
Yes I love Shaun Keaveny too, and for music fans Marc Riley in the evenings is brilliant. The Craig Charles Funk & Souls show on Saturday nights is amazing, and I wasn’t even a funk and soul fan when I started listening. Tom Ravenscroft Friday evenings is great for some off the beat and track stuff, Tom Robinsons music taste is just like mine. Jarvis Cocker is the perfect show for a Sunday afternoon. Its just an amazing station. Oh and Mary Anne Hobbs doing weekday breakfast is a brillyant new addition too.
Can you tell I’m a bit enthuastic about this station!
Your not wrong Fella only thing I ever listened to in The UK. The political correct at The Beeb tried to shut it down too the fools.

Heart is a bit predictable too…
That Toby Anstis does my swede in, as does Nicola Bon and both definitely dont have a voice for radio
However, when I can Ill stick Kiss 100 on, my old coach was hit and miss whether i could get a signal on the radio
Still Im looking for a cheapish digital radio to install into my new coach with a new firm so I can get Kiss all day ('specially between 11:00 and 12:00)

Got to take back what I said it seems he is part funding Gazza’s rehab in the US, so good on him.
