radio 2

Don’t get me started on the live report from the Welsh guy in the allotment on how to grow carrots.
And the news reader or trivial information broadcaster from Wales, on Radio One, I can’t understand what he is saying, not being racist.
I like the late night phone in on Radio One, with experts on hand and Doctors to advice on medical and relationship problems live on air.
Graham Norrington used to be on GWR Great Western Radio in Wiltshire, and had relationship advice late at night, he is still broadcasting.
James Whale, brutally honest, tells it how it is.
Radio Berkshire is good with Anne Diamond,ex TV AM.
Mike Read and other ex Radio One presenters frequent the airwaves there.
Radio Somerset with Emma Briton, she is a good laugh, doesn’t take herself seriously.

I know it sounds terribly sexist, but I just can’t get on with any female dj, they all drive me up the wall.

Doesn’t matter what station, genre, time of day … They all annoy the hell out of me. I’ve stopped listening to the radio now and just rely on spotify.

Most male Djs aren’t much better anyway. Jo Whiley was the worst when on radio 1, I couldn’t bare her, Fearne Cotton, stupid cackling, grating voice. Grrrr…
I’m getting wound up just thinking about it.

However, I can watch and listen to any of them on TV… Except Jo Whiley. I have no time for her on anything.

Nowt wrong with Zoe ball and Sara cox both quite funny at times venessa feltz or as she prefers to be called lady V to far up her own arse to find her way back, who bothered about stupid words to make sentences with at six o clock in the morning ffs,and if one more person says hi Steve great show or hi Steve loving the show I’m gunna puke, biggest load of bollox on radio2,rant over  :exclamation: :exclamation:

Just a quick question. How bored do you have to be to e-mail a radio station?

E-mail to to the show, due to Steve Wright that can not sing.
I prefer the whole song without Wrighty ruining it, that is licence payers money, he is not paid to be a singer.
Rant over.

got to admit i did prefer radio 2 in the old days, Ray Moore, Terry Wogan, put a cassette on while Jimmy Young was on then David Hamilton and later Johhny Walker and the brilliant John Dunn, much better than the pop station its turned into today , Terry Wogan and his Janet and John tales used to set me up for the day

chaversdad:
I quite enjoy Sara Cox , proper down to earth girl

I agree sir.

Ray Moore god bless him and his bog eyed jog

Penny Smith I thought did well better than Feltz Penny has a I want to keep you in bed voice!" In my opinion Feltz borders on slightly better than Vine at interviewing but is crap as a presenter Tony Blackburn does ok with his one off shows Steve Wright is wrong.Bring back Simon Bates and Our Tune hehe

alder:
I actually prefer Vanessa to Jeremy Vine

I would prefer chewing my own leg off at the knee to listening to Jeremy Bloody Vine. The man is a total ■■■■■ who appears to think he’s some kind of Jeremy Paxman when he attempts to interview guests on air - The main difference being Paxo actually has a grasp of the subject under discussion. Add to that his nasal whining and the endless string of brain-dead cretins that he has on the “phone in” sections and there’s little wonder I invariably end up switching off or retuning every lunchtime.

I know what you mean, but that fatty ■■■■■ woman takes some bloody sticking as well.
About as bad as each other.

Least your radios work! Mine died again last week after been “fixed” a week before!

The Banter between Wogan & Bruce was brilliant, shame we now get that ginger twit in the mornings, I stick Heart on until Ken Bruce comes on,

And get rid of righty & let Tim Smith take over,

All this is only relevant when they give me Scanny because the new FM’s have got the worst radio ever

The problem with Sara Cox is that she sounds like a glass coffee table being dragged across broken concrete  Chris Moyles had the same problem IMHO.

Wrongy’s voice is a massive put off for me, I want to hear the songs not his trap  :smiling_imp:

I should imagine those “Lovin’ the show” comments are probably made up.
But hang on, nothing, but nothing can be worse than BBC local radio in the evenings or the weekend.
It’s fascinatingly bad at times.

“Hello well we’ve got Maureen on the line from Scrotes Bangnorth. Hello Maureen?”

“Hello Nigel…”

“Maureen, can you remember when the night earth carts were replaced?”

“I do Nigel, er I think it was in late 54’ that the butchers son Harry told my mother that the Council would be building us an indoor lav…”

:imp:  :grimacing:

It’s kind of the same thing every time I tune in.

Admittedly,I am of a certain age  …but IMO,you can’t beat Smooth…just eases away all that stress :sunglasses:
And another thing,I have to mute the radio to reverse  perhaps I don’t have a feminine side, and can’t multitask :unamused:

Radio one for seth, nick grimshaw in mornings, flick thru channels until 1 oclock then scott mills is on ,innuendo bingo has me in stitches

You still drive a Renault? Does your radio only stay on for about 2 seconds before turning itself off.

In the 80,s , Steve Wright had a comedian that would ring as Mr Angry, it was very funny, he would get so angry, he would throw the phone down.

I wander between the two, R1 Gemma Cairney 4am-6.30am, R2 Evans and Bruce till 12, Mp3 player for an hour then R1 Mills and Greg James till 7 if i’m pulling a 15hr day. I didn’t mind Steve Wright much years ago but that sidekick idiot Tim Smith did my nut in

My radio depends on what I’m doing for the day. As mentioned above I listen to Silk quite a lot if I can pick it up. Rock FM/Radio City between 10-11 for Top 10 @ 10 if on local. If I’m on distance I switch stations until 9.30 for Ken Bruce then switching again from 12 unless the subject on Vine is something that interests me. R1 in the afternoon. Tbh Ken Bruce is probably my favourite on R2. Is anyone else noticing more and more stations using the same playlist. Rock FM and City use the exact same playlist it seems with only presenters and adverts being different. Heart I can cope with as background but that Joel & Lorna on in the early mornings drive me up the wall!Anyone else finding radio seems to be getting diluted and that wherever you are you get Heart with the same crappy playlist (except maybe the Time Tunnel).
