R truck drivers dishonest

R we more dishonest then other proffessionals? Looking at these foums loads of posts about liying to insurence companies, not reporting bad driving, runnin bent etc.

I’m saying nothing :grimacing:

You’re one lazy [zb] op

It is more than likely not ‘dishonesty’ per se. It’s BS, usually from the Super Trucker element who would probably also tell you that they do 90 hours per week, every week in a V8 that the boss has had chipped to 1000bhp.

No more and no less than any other walk of life imo. (With the exception of politicians of course)

I cant speak for the other chaps, but yes, I am dishonest. If I can claim something from an employer or the tax man I will and regularly do. Yes, I like to get what I can although I can honestly say I have never taken anything from anyones lorry. As an agency bod I get into peoples trucks when its obvious that they didnt expect to be off work and theyve left loads of stuff in there. Thats not on at all.
But for some reason I cant explain, I cant keep me thievin mitts off company ratchets or gloves and always seem to exaggerate my times and mileages. If Im left in an office I nick their pens, highlighters and staplers.

There. I`ve said it.

Oh and OP, running bent as you put it is NOT dis-honest. Its naughty and against the law, yes, but you won`t go to hell for it.

cant beat a free pair of gloves :open_mouth:

Or a free pen

I took 2 stirrers and 3 sugars from McDonald’s today, only needed one stirrer and 2 sugars but I’m a bad man :imp:
I’ve also been known to steal toilet paper to clean my mirrors with from the services…surprised I’m not in jail tbh.

I took a handful of packaged wet wipes from KFC.

I took 3 pairs of diesel plastic gloves from a garage and I have my own gloves. Sorry

Stealing from your employer is treated far worse than if somebody outside the company did it, just saying, now excuse me whilst I just nip in the trailer to make sure everythings ok

I used to steal forks from msa’s if I lost mine when tramping :sunglasses:

ive stole more than my fair share of customers pens when they get me to sign the notes, thing is they encourage it by lending it to me . i’ve also been known to steal pencils from argos and pens from ladbrokes.

if you see me hide your pens :grimacing:

Do you sell them are you a pen pusher ?

I stole my wifes heart…

Oh and a police car when i was a young whipper snapper, it was on the news and everything- they had left the keys in…

The above statement may not be true if theres any of our boys or girls in blue reading.

When I go to Msa’s I take more than 1 napkin.
I’m sorry for doing this and I’m not sure I can live with the guilt any longer.

With comments like that, is there any wonder the general public have such a low opinion of lorry drivers?

I wouldn’t think truckies are any more bent than any other working class profession. given the correct opperchancity, then some will pilfer, and others not.all depends on your scruples? if its a faceless organisation, like any of the government or national companies, then happy days, though personally though, not if its someone with a face. some of us like to run bent,no limiter,on the wire, magnet,or whatever, and see it as just using your initiative. Arthur daly wasn’t a criminal,he was just an entrepreneur.sometimes with all the security and seals etc, then its a bit of a challenge to some to see what they can get away with.and theres a knack to eating like a pig grazing when your tipping cages off the back of a food trailer.theres a difference in not reporting a bump,or fiddling cards to what would be normally classed as real criminals though by the letter of the law its still illegal.im happy enough parking up overnight in most groups of trucks with no real worry of getting burgled by the diesel fairies,as mostly we look out for each other, though you always have to be carefull in certain areas.
