Queues At Dover & Calais

If the SNP truly want independence they should ensure that the English get to vote next time.

GORDON 50:
Scotland wants to break away from the UK

That needs to be seen in context - if England left the UK so that the UK was:- Wales, Scotland, Cornwall & the Irish in Ulster (Maybe even Brittany) I’m sure Scotland would be happy to stay in the UK.

It’s more getting away from the Anglo Saxon Tories/UKIP (Sassenachs in Scots & Welsh, Sousen in Cornish) and of course Brexit, rather than leaving the UK as such.

So the SNP would fold under a Labour govt?

Let me know when we conclude a free movement agreement with any other State who’s colour you dislike.

Unfortunately Monkey the state whose colour I dislike has inhabitants who look like this

Seriously WS? That is pathetic would you racially stereotype any other group in this way? The irony being that the people who coined this phrase would have you in that group too.

He doesn’t do irony.

He’ll claim he detests racism when it’s clear he has an issue with colour.

Your problem is that your bigotry wins out every time.
I can give you a very rational debate on Brexit - but because I’m pale skinned and of a certain age you’ll abuse me on the basis of those characteristics.

'Course - only through the ether though.

Well more huge delays in Calais   an hour from arrival to the lanes no different to pre Brexit only delay today is due to the wind, apparently it’s a special Brexit wind designed to cause delays

Surely somebody can provide a link showing how it’s queuing back to the periphique?

Last heard of chasing an errant giant blue-starred placard on the end of a 20 ft pole that the “Brexit” wind had got hold of. There were unconfirmed reports that someone had been seen at 500 feet hanging onto a huge megaphone shouting “we demand another vote”. This was later said to have been tracked on radar disappearing over the North Sea, but this was denied by HM Coastguard who claimed that it was in fact only a hot-air balloon used for routine meteorological reporting. At a press conference a spokesman was quoted as saying that they were investigating some unusual transmissions on its radio frequency, which appeared to be in some sort of code. Help had been sought from GCHQ to interpret emse vei lebe no ontu bniat irb rofda bsi tis xerb.

In fairness to Franglais and Whispering Smith those Brexit winds can be pretty deadly.

C’mon Mazzer don’t you know the rules by now, either:

  • You are only allowed to post doom and gloom links, no good or positive news allowed.

  • Or if you don’t post a link to your point of view then it’s not true and invalid.

One of the SUPPOSED benefits?
It did indeed end importation of cheap Labour.

No.
Brexit ended the right of citizens to move freely within the territory of the European Union, European Economic Area and Switzerland. When they are lawfully in one of those countries, they should not be treated differently from citizens of that country in terms of:

Access to employment
Working conditions
Taxation
Access to training
Access to trade unions
Access to (for example) housing, education, education for their children

Currently we have easier cabotage rules for foreign drivers, in foreign reg trucks, doing domestic UK work than before Brexit.
Cheaper labour, with lower overheads, not paying UK income tax, NI, bosses not paying UK road tax, business tax.

You want better pay for UK workers? I do.
Up the minimum wage for all. Stop zero hours contracts.
Not a chance whilst we have the boss of the Bank of England telling us “not to be greedy”!
Are truck drivers underpaid in all EU countries? Underpayment isn`t because of the EU.

Yes…it did

Better pay for UK workers?

An extra 7 grand for me last year [emoji6]

Underpayment results from an oversupply of labour

Prof. Brian Bell head of the Migration Advisory Committee has been speaking at the Resolution Foundation event today has just said that rising wages at the bottom of the job market suggests that we underestimated downward pressure on wages from free movement.

I’m guessing from Bells comments elsewhere he would have voted Remain hence the comments are interesting. No link yet but it will probably be up on their website in a few days

All things the EU did nothing about and would appear to be doing nothing about for member states as it is currently allowing member states to import drivers from around the world those hordes of Indian drivers you and WS keep banging on about are already arriving in EU countries keeping wages low and if you believe that EU transport policy did not help to keep wages low then you are either nieve or a fool.
No comment from you on the link you just posted heaven forbid that what many were saying for years only to branded racist and xenophobic for saying it has turned out to be true.
Lies may have spread at the time of the referendum but it would appear plenty of lies were being told long before the referendum about the so called benefits of uncontrolled immigration

Sorry teacher, but if the link worked then I might just be able to read it
Just to add no response to any of the other points I raised just a typical smart arse response from you. Albion put up a summary of the gist of the article and TBF her posts are usually accurate so no need to doubt what she has put.
