here at stoke the motors bit grubby as we always get others cast offs, as we seem to be the black sheep of the depots, no tv cameras came here as if there ashamed and didnt want people to see motors etc, and not like the tv prog says there not all gleaming!!

not realy bothered what other people think robroy…like i said each driver to there own…as some have said on here…they would never work for Stobarts…thats there choice…nobody forces anybody to work where they dont want to…Stobarts will always be the topic of conversation no matter where you go…because of their success and lets face it nobody likes anybody who succeeds in this country no matter what they do…i can just see it now up and down the country drivers scrambling to type on here…they under cut…the church own us…the banks want their money back…Tesco own us…the list is endless…DHL have been successful so have Norbetts and Wincanton as have Maritime in containers and countless others down the years…yep i like to think Stobarts have done it right…not all the time but 99% of the time they have,in truth a driver these days is never happy unless he"s moaning and while he"s picking on Stobarts he"s leaving everybody else alone…and by the way robroy where you get this thing about me being ady1 from i don"t know…seems to me you could be one of those drivers im on about but i like ya anyway…i"ll look after ya…no need to be frightened when im on here

Yep its fair to say the TV series got us few friends amongst other drivers but that was to be expected,it didn"t matter who they made the series of…DHL,Wincantons,Norbetts the garbage spouted by some of you would have been the same,it just added extra spice being about us Stobarts…most drivers except it as a light hearted look at what we do,to the public is brilliant,but to some of you…you"d think it was life threatning…yep in the early years of working fot Stobarts you got used to be being put on the hard shoulder by other drivers on a regular basis…even caught one up in a motorway hjam after he did it to me one day…down went my window to speak to him…what a scruff he was,next time you do that mate i said…lets just pray your wife and kids are broke down on the hard shoulder so i plough over the top of them…or some other innocent motorist…full marks for him for saying sorry and he went on his way thinking of what he"d done…make me laugh all this so called crap wages we spose to be getting…i work as many hours as i want and get paid for them…£22 a n/o and £13 a day meal allowance plus £5 a day fuel bonus all tax free,thats £200 a week tax free then theres my hourly rate and sat rate,yep im pleased with it,take home pay for me is just over £600 a week…im happy with that and as some other Stobart men on here have said,the job is a doddle…no hard work involved and all good well looked after tackle…yep i agree theres better jobs out there,but theres not many thats better for what we do…i can put up with the crap thats aimed at us…in one ear and out the other…each and every driver to there own…as long as your all safe out there im happy…

They might do but I wouldn’t want the wage packet you would get for that. N/O money should not be considered part of wages unless they pay you it when you are on holiday.

i took a friday to tuesday tramping job for stobbies after the manager laid it on about how much i could earn at the weekend, then i found my self being parked up mid afternoon on a sunday in one of their depots, just in case a driver didnt come in the monday morning, this was a regular thing and your right, night out and food allownce shouldnt be counted to your pay

Have never commented on Stobart thread before but heres my opinion(worth ■■■■ all but here goes)
Never had much to do with their drivers tbh but maybe they get a bad rep because,basically its down to averages?
ie- there are loads of them and the more there are,the more . . how can i word this 
. the more phlebs in the workforce.
When i started doing Euro 20 odd years ago,a lot of drivers used to slag off Murfitts (must have had one of the biggest fleets in them days) because “all their drivers are ■■■■■■
The ones that i met seemed ok . . just a thought !!
