There are several sites around the country with quotes from the bible, but no one bothers or makes a fuss about them
Pierre, go into a local church and tell them that the bible is ■■■■■■■■, then go into your local mosque and tell them the koran is a load of ■■■■■■■■. See how you get on.
LOL so true. and there 2 signs on M62 one near brighouse I think
edd1974:
Or anyone who knows.
Going down the m 6. Around Stafford and along the m 62 near Leeds.
There’s trailers parked in the fields next to said motorways.
With some Arabic writing on then a bit of English underneath.
Seem to say something about Mohamed peace be with you.
Anyone know what there about?
Am.guessing it’s a tribute to mohamed…but if
so who ?
Hi buddy, they’ve been up for a while. They are couple on the M6 and a couple on the M62.
They are known as durood in Arabic or salutation in English. I believe they are there as a reminder for the Muslim community mainly, as we believe it as a good deed to pray this salutation for the prophet Mohammed peace be upon him.
Somebody has clearly paid for them to be advertised on the trailers.
Just so that other members of this forum are aware, I do not wish to engage in any sort of debate on religion etc.
Hope that helped.

I always bristle whenever I see cyrillic signage in UK.
…especially in the gents at Tesco, where the text translates as something like не плюнуть (N’yeh Plyounoot) “Do not spit”…
Makes sense in the RDC Waiting room, or Transport office - but in the gents■■?
How come there’s no brackets in the original arabic text btw?
If mentioning you-know-who has to be followed by the words “p… be upon him”, then is that particular part of the expression used in the original arabic - or not?

No Islam…know peace, seems a more fitting epithet.

Seriously? Showing your true colours there.
Seriously? Do you deny that thousands of non combatants died as the result of allied military actions on the orders of Blair & Bush?
This was retaliation for the Twin Towers attack. At the time of 9/11 there were no Western forces occupying or bombing muslim countries, so when muslims use the excuse of their lands been bombed when they cause terror attacks in the West, that is just utter bs. What was their excuse for 9/11?
First of all you use the word Muslims which is wrong as its minority who belive in terror attacks and its not religious but political.
My second point is 911 was a inside job which is pretty obvious if you do your research. Muslims also died on that day. It is also pretty obvious 911 was planned for a reason and the US forces are still in Afghanistan for 11 years since this date. Now even if you do claim it was done by people who were Muslims then what benefit would 911 have for such people. Even its true let’s say the terrorists were Muslims are you going to blame a whole religion by the actions of 0.01% of people. If all Muslims are like this and believe in such attacks and hate everyone then tell me why the rest 99% of Muslims ain’t doing it. If you really thought all Muslims are like this then why do visit a doctor who is a Muslim or go to a Muslim take away, let a Muslim teach your kids at school or let ride on a bus with a Muslims driver.
I’m sure you have Muslims at work or in your neighbourhood so if you thought that way then leave your family alone while you go to work?
I think it’s pretty obvious that you don’t think that way about Muslims. Its like blaming all Christians for the action of crusaders as they were religiously motivated and used their religion as a way to justify what they did. When an individual does something the media will say he was insane it doesn’t make the headlines. Say a religion then it’s an different story. Can’t you see all this is done to divide everyone and control you through fear.
Also regarding mosques
Yes its true there are mosques being built in towns that’s because their is a demand for them. If you have a look at all our churches they are closed because nobody visits them anymore. More and more churches are closing down because we have come so far away from religion and the British culture. If you have a look at mosques, synagogue, temples they all have people who regularly pray or worship in them. Look at our churches when was the last time you seen groups of people going in or out of them? So really if you blame others for changing the British culture its us who are to blame as we have come so far away from it. Ask yourself what is being British and what is the British culture then look at the actions of us and then think who is to blame for it.
Just expressing my views and its no form of hate intended to any culture religion or individual.
Regarding the billboards, this is just another form of the creeping islamic culture changing the face of the West. You just have to look at many Towns in the UK which have mosques and minerets dominating the skyline, some even have the call to prayer ringing out across the area. Gradually our culture is been eroded and is been taken over by a backward alien culture and in a few generations people will say how the hell have we come to this? But by then it will be too late.
Gaddafi was right also. He once said that if he was not in power then it would open the floodgates for Europe to be invaded by millions of muslims, many with ulterior motives, and that has come to fruition

Both comments arn’t relevant to original post which is about roadside billboards, your comments are about racial differences and stirring up inter racial hatred
Why would you go into any religious place of worship and insult their beliefs? The question is is wrong if we believe the koran is zb or if they belive the Bible is zb that’s out own opinion and should be kept to ourselves. Why would anyone not be offended if someone did that.
Any religion is ■■■■■■■■ to me,.I don’t care who that offends, I find it all offensive.
Primitive superstitions all based on a fear of death.
It has all caused misery and death for centuries.

I come from a C of E Protestant family who are not what you would call religious, but are ‘believers’ if you like.
As a kid I recall my Granda, who was a cracking bloke, kneeling beside his bed praying at night, and as a young kid, him teaching me prayers to say before I went to sleep.
My Uncle was a Church warden, but tbf he never tried to influence his beliefs on me ever.
I also was made to go to Sunday school, but I liked the trips and Christmas parties, so I didn’t mind …
I also had to go to confirmation classes when I was about 14, and by this time I started to think things through for myself, and make my own mind up about things.
I’ve never took Communion (which are the aim of those classes) but later on at 24 got married in Church, but only as it was ‘the done thing’ at that time.
I get it that a lot of people get a lot of comfort from their beliefs, and that’s up to them, but it’s the religious nutters that are the danger in all this, those who live their lives strictly by some kind of religious code who get on my ■■■■, from the ones who try and instill their beliefs upon you no matter how unwelcome that is, either by quoting religious passages to you, or knocking on your door at weekends while you’re trying to watch the football.
Then to the other absolute end of the spectrum…the mad assed religious pieces of ■■■■ who murder and maim innocent people, that has happened in the name of Christianity as well as Islam.
And it shall come to pass that in 2000 years from the prophet wandering these lands the whole world will be wearing face coverings and being controlled by a central force, they shall follow like proverbial lambs and will eat plants, knifes will be used for carving off bits of the infidel to offer up in sacrifice.

Like I say,.I give it a wide berth…, all of it.
Rob, people killed in the name of Christian fundamentalism are fairly thin on the ground, however the slaughter in the name of Islam is in the news every day.
That is why a trailer with a message extolling the glories of Islam and wishing peace is breathtaking in its hypocrisy and rather sinister too.
Is it not a sad sign of the times we live in that you can only criticise islam with the caveat that christianity is as culpable too, when we both know its only true in an historical context. Like you I am an atheist who did the sunday school and confirmation etc, and now sees right through the egotistical hypocrisy of religion.
It is also a sad sign of the times that this thread is sinking into oblivion…as the subject is deemed too contentious to be discussed.

The caveat of mentioning the culpability of Christianity was not an appeasement nor an attempt to balance things out for pc sake…I ain’t like that.
My history studies were 20th Century, but I’m sure that those who studied earlier periods, the crusades for example, could confirm that many atrocities were carried out in the name of Christianity, and well beyond that time right through history…‘‘we’’ are far from being innocent and blameless, that was my point.
You needn’t even go that far back, just look at the murders in Northern Ireland since the 20s to the 80s, and in the mainland carried out,…on the positive side at least those guys gave warnings, unlike Islamist terrorists who belong in the Middle ages, wielding knives indiscriminately, and murdering children at pop concerts with bombs.

Of course people will be offended, but in a free and secular country it is okay to be offensive. Deal with it.
Yes I agree to a certain level with you but freedom of speech should not be used to caused offensive or hate towards any group. Freedom of speech and opinions can be used in a respected manner.
If someone doesn’t agree or belive in anything is it not enough to just say I don’t belive in this because of this and that and end off.
In this World we have people who belive in religion and ideologies and people who think its all of zb.
This will never change and will always be there.
So if anyone wants to co-exist and get along everyone’s wishes should be respected as its each to their own.
If people are using methods to insult others as some choose to do this then such people are only thinking about themselves and don’t care about getting along with people.
This leaves 2 options…
Either get rid of everyone which ain’t going to happen or to learn to get along with everyone which can only happen if everyone’s rights are respected…
Otherwise we will just be going round in a circle.
That’s my opinion and I respect everyone’s opinion.

Banning religion of ANY flavour may not save the Earth, but it’d go a long bloody way!
I’m struggling to think if there has ever been a war in history that did not have its roots in religious intolerance? I’m sure there may well have been, but I could probably count them on the fingers of one hand.

Daani, in a large part of the world, what you propose is normal, and deviation from it can have a number of consequences. Many very unpleasant. The reason why, is an intolerance of a dissenting view.
In the UK and parts of Europe people have fought and died for our right to be irreverent and occasionally offensive, and the truest test of any orthodoxy is mockery. If the Germans had mocked Hitlers fascist orthodoxy he would not of entered power, but they took it seriously and reaped the whirlwind. In the UK he would of been laughed out of town.
Christianity was mocked mercilessly by Monty Python with the ‘Life of Brian’ and still endures, and the cast did not have fatwas issued against them. Charlie Hebdo magazine satirised islam and people were killed because of it.
This intolerance is against the very fabric of Western values.
This why I am against the hypocrisy of messages from islam on trailers or anything else for that matter, because whilst they advocate peace they allow no dissent. Which is very sinister.
@Janos.
Off topic but got to pick you up on a point of history.
You say in UK Hitler would have been laughed out of town?
The British Fascist party in the 30s, with similar policies to Hitler, led by Edward Mosely was taken seriously by many, in all classes, they certainly weren’t laughed out of town, but had to be banned with about a thousand of it’s members interred when war broke out, or soon after.
On a few occasions we get The Jehovah’s knocking on the front door and after goading them about not allowing blood transfusions which they do not like one bit I then suggest that they should consider that rather than waste their time with me that they should get a coachload of their Brethren organised and blitz the likes of the “Khyber Pass” in Bradford !!! But oh! no! that is defo a ■■■■■■■ No No as they know they would get more than a “tongue lashing” from the Towel Heads----- there would be a serious incident and blood would be shed ! The other ploy I use to upset the “J W”'s on the door step is tell them that I am a rabid Orangeman and the Wife is an R.C. !! That really ■■■■■ them up !! especially when I also add that I am a fervent marcher in the Parades and I beat the Longbeg Drum !! Why don’t all the fervent Towel Heads emigrate back to the land of their origin and allow the UK to return to life as it was 50/60 years ago ! ? I’m sure they would be welcomed with open arms ---- or maybe not Bewick.

Yep because many of his misguided supporters didn’t realise that the Nazis were bat zb crazy Socialists no different to Stalin’s Bolsheviks.
My Grandfather knew. That’s why he’d signed up even before Chamberlain had waved his piece of paper to fool Hitler.
Bearing in mind that the Socialist German Workers’ Party ( it all sounds different using its title properly ) all too predictably found a lot of common ground with radical Islam in the form of Haj Amin al Husseini.
Many of the resulting SS Handschar then allying with the British Army fighting against Israeli refugees from Europe in Palastine during the fight for Israel’s recognition.
Which sort of puts Moseley’s laughably naive Tooting Popular Front type stupidity into perspective.
