Proof you'll still get caught in the end

saw this on bbc east midlands newssite either way you will still get caught, plus a bonus to know that the camera works

LOL, I wondered what Tony had been up to, not seen him for ages.

A wiser man would have done it himself and on the same day!

Lmao … Turds

police said the blaze was pointless, just think of all them lucky BMW and AUDI racing drivers who got away with it until the camera was replaced…

Whilst I would never want to be seen or heard applauding law breaking, I can have some sympathy with these guys.

By getting caught maybe they weren’t 100% successful in their execution, but the news report quotes the judge as saying a "…custodial sentence was “inevitable”.

It does seem these days that you can commit (metaphorical) murder and get away with a slap on the wrist. If that. And these two, whilst trying to avoid a fine and a few points for being a few miles over the limit, are going to have their lives blemished forever. And no doubt the excessive costs over and above the price of a new camera, will once again fall on the taxpayer. But let’s face it, no one died. Do they really need to be sent to prison?

I repeat, I don’t condone their actions. I just think throwing them in jail is going a long way over the top!

Well said, I agree.

I agree it is well over the top, criminal damage is all it is, how can it be arson ? it was a speed camera ffs not someones home /office or shop ect
But maybe it’s because of that un written rule we seem to have in this country

Whereby if you rob a civilian or do something else dishonest toward them, then it’s a slap on the wrist,
But should you evade duty or tax you stand a far greater chance of being banged up, so this speed camera owned by the state, and is there in most cases to generate revenue/income for them could that by why they are likely to go to prison ?

www.speedcam.co.uk/welcome.htm

Just get them to pay for the replacement camera plus a fine on top with maybe a record and that should be enough, sending them down for that is ridiculous considering Fred the Shred is still at large…

Proof that he’s more an idiot for not burning it straight away and leaving it too long more like.

I’d say they were making an example of him, you cant just go round burning ■■■■.

Well he’s a doughnut anyway for going through a speed camera that’s painted yellow, has white marks on the floor and numerous signs leading up to it.

Sometimes there hidden though.

LOL dont have much luck this guy
1, get done for speeding
2, send muppet to burn the camera down
3, both get caught
4, both get locked up
i can only conclude from the events above that a custodial sentance is for the offenders own safety!

Locked up for costing no one any loss of cash or sleep?

Set loose on bail when you’re likely to kill somebody?

I don’t understand how the law works in this country. :frowning:

True, but also, there’s that many of them, you just stop noticing after a while. I don’t speed and have still been known to double check my speedo whilst hovering over the brake after just noticing 1 that I’ve been past 10,000 times.

There’s a lot going on on the roads and adjoining pavements, and sometimes the speed camera is just ignored because there’s that many and it poses no threat, unlike the drunks the other side of those parked cars, or the kid on the pushbike with a bent stabiliser etc.

Hiya i drove on the A62 from the M60 into Oldham last week. wow their must be about 8 cameras
in 2 miles all in a 30 mph zone. the best part of it was we only drove at about 15 mph all the way
along this road. the cameras must be for the night time when the nutters come out to play in there
corsa,s and civics…

I find that if the offence is committed against a member of the general
public then the sentence is not fitted to the crime ,but if its against
any body concerned with the government or to do with the running
of the country then the sentence is bg time .
Look at the old ladies who wont or cant pay council tax who get up to a
month in nick , yet some lowlife scum get probation fopr beating the
hell out of the same old lady .
But then if you are a government minister you can use bad language
and disrespect the coppers doing their duty and get away with a
tounge in cheek apology .
Its all wrong in a big way .

I wonder if this is reported correctly, surely the main offence is one of attempting to pervert the course of justice? Either way, I can’t see how it is in the public interest to send them down the steps. A fine and / or community service would seem more proportionate.
