I didn’t set the laws. Perhaps your MP can help you understand the reasoning about the mobile law set by government?

Good idea. I’ll write to a parasite and ask her if she can explain the behaviour of another parasite :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

What was it you said in the other thread Harry? Ah yes, “ad hominem attacks”.

You really cannot help yourself, can you? :unamused:

here we go again

Yes, here Harry goes again.

If lots and lots of drivers start using CBs whilst driving then a law specifically making that illegal would come into force

CBs and all other non driving tasks done when driving that could be deemed DWDCaT

Mobile phones would not have a specific law if only a few drivers were doing it and would have been left under the same laws as CBs

Stop doing it and I’ll stop saying it. Play the ball, not the man.

I have stopped doing it. I’m not labelling anyone as “filth” or “parasites”.

Lots of drivers used to use CBs ROG, and and some point there was more drivers using them than mobile phones!
Oh and on specific laws, was the one regarding watching tv whilst driving changed? Because at some point it only referred to cathode ray tubes and not laptops/flat screen tvs.

Penalties for using your phone while driving

If you’re caught using a hand-held phone while driving or riding, you can get an automatic fixed penalty notice. You’ll get 3 penalty points on your licence and a fine of £60.

Your case could also go to court and you could be disqualified from driving or riding and get a maximum fine of £1,000. Drivers of buses or goods vehicles could get a maximum fine of £2,500.

:open_mouth:

Ive been told if you get caught in scotland aswell as the points and fine, your license is suspended for 2 weeks by the commissioner.

To be honest, I just can’t work out what you are doing here. There are numerous Police forums on the internet, I wouldn’t join one of them just to point out that they are simply trying to get revenge for being unpopular and bullied at school.

Why don’t you just post to a Police forum where you might be treated as an equal by your fellow inadequates?

You can use your CB while driving and police officers can operate their radios while driving. What’s the problem?

It’s a stupid and an unneeded law .Why target mobile phones ? why not cb’s or stupid bints and makup or messing with the radio ? all are equally as distracting in the wrong conditions .There already were laws in place to cover inappropriate use of phones ,the same law that allow a person to be prosecuted for eating an apple whilst driving ,it’s called driving without due care and attention

You’ll have to ask the government who thought up and imposed this law.

I am a member of the main UK police forum.

Why should I only be a member of police forums? We live in a democracy which allows us to do as we please on the Internet.

I’m not here to seek revenge. I wasn’t bullied at school either but I wouldn’t be surprised if you were.

Again, what were saying about “ad hominem attacks”? :unamused:

And so, once again, it is “Ve vere only obeying zee orders”

He’s not a real copper though is he.

Not so much orders, more like enforcing the laws that govern our country.

Probably, although quite what he is doing here is a bit of a mystery. Perhaps he is a bit disillusioned with his job and wishes he was a truck driver and has simply gone about introducing himself in the wrong way.

From what roadsrat posts on here, It appears to be very clear that he will uphold the law, any law, no questions asked, no matter what.
he’s very blinkered in my opinion.
The Spanish police do the same when they pull you, If you have any hours offences you’re getting a fine. The fact that the law does allow you to deviate from the regulations in certain circumstances has no bearing in their judgement.
There are certain curcumstances when you can legally use a handheld mobile phone quite legally, But with the attitude he has shown to us on here, He wouldn’t allow the facts to get in the way of yet another fine.

RoadsRat:
Break any law and you deserve what comes your way.

Sorry the world doesn’t run the way you want it to.

RoadsRat, I don’t know if your a traffic copper or just some troll pretending to be a copper but I do know one thing, which ever, you really are a sad looser with those comments above.

Ross.

I think you two should take it round the back of the bike sheds, or better still, move in together you would make a lovely couple.
Most entertaining post for a while haha.

I joined to clear up the many “misunderstandings” involving the law.

Unfortunately it’s turned into a slagging match, personal attacks and false aspersions being thrown around by a small minority.

Somehow I’m in the wrong. :unamused:
