I’m not spamming obviously your not a real truck driver because you clearly have too much time on your hands if you can respond to messages as they are posted.

Just think about what time you posted it. You posted it on a Sunday afternoon. Why wouldn’t someone have time on their hands on a Sunday? The vast majority of the country by far has time on their hands on a Sunday because the vast majority of the country doesn’t work on a weekend. Let me guess you’re working for an extra £1.50/hr over the normal rate and doing a 6 day week because you think you’re a hero?

No, he’s a real driver but the difference between him and you is he’s just not a mug who works every hour god sends.

As a truck driver it’s not too hard to limit your interactions with other people, in a choice between me getting the vaccine or the guys at my local Lidl, there’s no contest IMO.
Many truckers will be a relative priority anyway, based on the age categories:

The current aim is to vaccinate the majority of the top four priority groups in Phase 1 by mid-Feb. This includes:

- Those aged 80 and over and frontline health and social care workers.

- Those aged 75 and over.

- Those aged 70 years and over and people deemed to be clinically extremely vulnerable.

- Those aged 65 and over.

The rest of Phase 1 then goes in the order of:

- All individuals aged 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality.

**- All those 60 years of age and over.**
**- All those 55 years of age and over.**
**- All those 50 years of age and over.**

Being that the ave age of a trucker is 45+ most will be done by June any way
And OP I get double time on a Sunday but i don’t work Sundays much as i like my time at home and driving on a Sunday is worse on Motorways than weekday rush hour :imp:

Driving weekends is not for everybody but working for double time makes Sunday worthwhile for getting paid for 2 days money for 1 days work. I don’t know the statistics of a truck drivers average age but I do know a lot in their 20’s and 30’s and I don’t feel it is fair that people are getting vaccinated that are able to work from home where truck drivers are not. You don’t work you don’t get paid!

Yeah course you are. You’re probably one of the only drivers getting double time on a Sunday if you actually do as that went out the window years ago when the Poles turned up and were willing to work weekends for normal pay. Given how much you bang on about not being a real lorry driver if you work normal hours everyone else does I doubt you’re on double bubble on a Sunday. But then again maybe you are if you’re one of the many trampers who are on barely more than a quid an hour above national minimum wage. Fortunately I’m on enough an hour that I don’t need to work Sunday to pay the bills.

I don’t know the statistics of a truck drivers average age

You don’t work you don’t get paid!

Still not worked out the whole “work smart, not hard” thing have you? I get paid whilst I sleep via my investments in global all cap index funds and what I’ve got invested in crypto which has gone mental the last couple of months. When I used to rent out a house I used to get paid for that too for mostly doing nothing plus given I’d bought it in 1996 and sold in 2017 for £80k profit I literally got paid £350 a month just for owning it.

So yeah don’t work and you can still get paid.

Conor the keyboard warrior that has a ring to it and you know it seems like a lot of you truck drivers bang on and on about wages and actually believe you are on a lot of money and that alone is what is most amusing to me. No truck driving job pays that great for the risk involved and the hours that you put in. I didnt come here to talk about wages and it doesn’t interest me what others have or dont have. Just for your information yes I do work Sundays and yes I do get double time I also work bank holidays for triple time. All you truck drivers sit here saying you earn a lot of money for Monday to Friday there is no such job that pays good money in truck driving for Monday to Friday. And what you guys consider good money for Monday to Friday to others they wouldn’t get out of bed for. The only way to get any half decent money from truck driving is more hours taking more risk working nights and working premium days. As for agency drivers who believe they are self employed and don’t own a lorry who earn their money fiddling the taxes will soon find out when the tax man comes knocking and takes away their homes.

Why prioritise truckers?

I’m 54…and fit and healthy. So I’ll wait my turn, thanks.

My age group isn’t high risk…just higher than some.

'Course…most of my age group aren’t physically fit…
And often have other health issues -often related to having spent the last 50 years being NOT physically fit

Your mate is a tragedy. But you’re starting to sound like a sailor’s albatross, particularly as you know ‘many’ that have died.

I know several who have had it… and a couple who possibly have long covid.

But no deaths in my circle…

Do you sit close to anyone all day?

Do you need to be near anyone offloading?

Do you carry hand sanitizer?

Because some of us actually are, especially those of us who drive lorries for companies who don’t make their money from transport.

All you truck drivers sit here saying you earn a lot of money for Monday to Friday there is no such job that pays good money in truck driving for Monday to Friday. And what you guys consider good money for Monday to Friday to others they wouldn’t get out of bed for.

I earn over £34k a year, over £4k more than the national average wage, for working less than 40hrs including breaks a week over 4 days and I also get 33 days paid holidays a year.

Here’s this week’s wageslip given you’ll no doubt say I’m talking crap.

34k for a sub 40 hour week isn’t bad.

The fact you wouldn’t get out of bed simply highlights your own insecurities.

All your recent threads provide quite an insight into your psyche
