I think they should all have to have the height in feet as well as metres. Not that it would stop you being any higher I just don’t like having to convert it.
I often think its asking for trouble having it in metric, all the road signs have to be in imperial so chances are most drivers will only work with imperial measurements. It’s not as if it would cost the petrol station any extra andit might save the odd hit or two.
Agreed. This continuous unit conversion causes problems in all parts of life, IMHO. I rarely visit the underside of such places but have to sometimes get out and look at the relative heights if I don’t know the metric height of my vehicle. Normally I have trouble with under-height trees though.

Maybe he was empty with the midlift up and it was that extra height which got him?
i doubt it, as the lift axle is down on the picture.
but i can’t understand why some drivers do that with scanias. they can be reset quite easily.
it’s usually the same class of driver that dosn’t drop the air on the unit when dropping a trailer.
the whole back end looks low to me, as if it’s been lowered which would put the midlift on the floor if it hadn’t been there to start with.
is it not the case that the midlift doesn’t lift very high so the truck raises the drive suspension to give adequate clearance for the midlift?

I am, sorry it’s the one thing I can’t excuse.
He probably used to say that.

Don@t know if anyone is interested but I put this together and have it printed off and bluetacked to the back of my sunvisor.

No excuse I’m afraid. Copied from the last page of a Philips Navigator and lives in my wallet…

It’s not an excuse I was using but I think if I’d had the canopy demolished on my forecourt I’d considering putting measurements in imperial and metric, one strike is going to be a whole pain in the arse for them to sort out. They will have to deal with insurance companies and will have their forecourt capacity reduced when it gets fixed. Getting it signed correctly might one day save that from happening. Or not.
