The fact is I’ve been coming in and out of Calais for years and years now and still do, and yes the number of immigrants seems to have gone up a little of late but so far I’ve never had any problems, let alone enough to run someone over. I’m not for a second saying drivers don’t have problems, but this does have a serious whiff of media over hype. You watch, give it a week or two and the media circus will have moved onto pastures new and the likes of me will just carry on as normal in and out of Calais as we always have
Well that is almost certainly the truth, but there are plenty off videos on the youtube that show theses illegals floating about, and trying to get into trucks
As for running Immigrants over, I think its really sad that the Authorities have totaly negated their responsiblities for the care off european citizens, and sent out a message that doing harm to Immigrants is acceptible. The Authorities should be working harder to round the Immigrants up and if nescesary build holding/proccessing centers in mainland Europe to sort the asylum seekers from the economic migrants, then some order might be brought back to the situation
In general if it’s supposedly all about ‘asylum’,as opposed to economic migration,then trying to cross the channel hidden in or under a truck would be the last thing that any ‘refugee’ would choose.When the definition in that case would/should mean the first safe country.Which in general from the usually accepted ‘dangerous’ countries wouldn’t mean western Europe at all.The fact is in the case of western Europe it’s all about people from the poorer parts of the world looking for a way into what they perceive as the most economically advantageous one in terms of housing,social provision and health care.In this case that being Britain.Which is why they don’t want to stay in France let alone Turkey or Morrocco.

What really surprises me is the the French could solve their problem at a single stroke.
All they have to do is invite the migrants to a reception centre, grant them all asylum with a French EU passport and Britain cannot stop them simply getting a ferry ticket and coming here as EU citizens, and they could claim all the benefits that are there after the qualifying period of time.
The same applies to any country that they arrive in, there is no need for any other country except GB to have a problem.
They can all issue passports and asylum and let them make there way here.

Never having done any euro work why have we got a border control in France. And I see in a magazine a driver from the eastern bloc caught at the tunnel with a fair amount of drugs who is then taken to Sevenoaks to be charged!!! why the offence was commited in france why was he not done by the French. Eddie British border agency passport control is done in France now and the French is in Dover so its you go through each one in the other country before boarding the ferry or train

Secondly we could again commission huge billboards upon which we paste huge pictures of fat people waddling up and down Britain’s town centres, but this time the tag line would be “maybe not you or your children, but your childrens children will look like this”
How about having some ‘dummy trucks’ in the queue of traffic at the port, whose job it is to make it easy for the asylum seekers to get in, but instead of getting on the ferry they then turn round and head through the EU and drop them off at the furthest EU border? Any volunteers to drive?

I worked for a large multi national haulage firm( now swallowed up into another one ) in the early 90 running to Romainia and we was told if the Roma on the old horse and cart pulled out and tried to stop you we where to drive over them if need be. Easier said than done I think. luckily never had to put it to the test (nor did any of the other drivers)

I think I may have solved all the countries problems. Move Tesco rdc waiting rooms into 10 Downing St. With a sprinkling of drivers off here and they would solve all problems known to man.
Im no gaurdian reading liberal and think this and the eu immigration system is a joke but i know i couldnt intentonaly run someone over.
even if i acidently did i think it would affect me a lot.
