I wonāt be using themā¦but had no real plans in the next 12 months.
I also have issues with Amazon and try to use them as little as possible but confess that the convenience offered sometimes outweighs my principles

FWIW Iāve never bought a single thing with the word cadburys on it since that bloody American woman lied through her teeth to parliament and stitched up the workers by moving production out of the country. Not exactly catastrophic for them but each to their own.
Some brands just remain toxic for longer than others. Does anyone know if The Sun is still held in such low esteem in Liverpool?
To be fair, working is still held in low esteem in Liverpool, as is not stealing alloys and car stereos.
But then Iām a Manc and I hate them too [emoji6]

Yes, despised on Merseyside.
I try to not buy Chinese made goods, especially more expensive goods, partly it is down to the fact they are becoming an increased militery threat to the west, the way they treat Hong Kong and other people and their attitude to trying to control international waters.
Partly it is the fact that if I go out and buy something more expensive I feel kind of cheated that it is made hundreds of miles away for a couple of dollars and tomtom is asking me to pay £400 for the product, or Philips is asking me £150 for a fryer or Apple are asking £800 for one of their mobils (although I believe they are moving production out of China).
It is the fact the stuff needs to be moved thousands of miles too but it is OK because it is big business doing it, but I should be taking the bus.

Ask a stupid questionā¦
O wellā¦
The only effective boycot which would work would be the port workers refusing to moor the ferry alongside. That however would be viewed as secondary picketing by the Filthies. Since shaps has already ordered the Maritime and Coastguard Agency to carry out a safety inspection and crew performance appraisal, rather than telling P&O that will have to wait until the legal position and compensation has been finalised to complete satisfaction, then HMGās reaction has been pathetic. P&O should have been forced to go bankrupt and the operation treated the same as has been done with the failed rail companies.
Plenty of other workers who still rely on P&O are in a very vunerable position. At Hull docks the crane drivers have refused to load and offload any P&O vessel. When the original staff left the ferries there were 3 bus loads of brought in foreign staff waiting to board the ship for P&O who were willing to work for well below minimum wage, we were told a figure of £2.98 per hour!!! The workers refused them entry onto the ferries.

With you on Cadburys.once superlative manufacturers of a beloved product, handed to a nefarious US purveyor of dubious āfood stuffsā (kraft) and now churning out de-chocolated,vile tasting concoctions with all the flavour of candle waxā¦reduced size (not prices tho)ā¦ingredients etc. Absolute travesty of a stunt.I tend to avoid Chinese comestibles such as garlic and vitamins which have fairly questionable standards. They stay shelf bound for months and tend to degrade but l donāt mind basic stuff, camping gear, fishing tackle or even the odd bits of clothing,ie stuff that goes on me rather than inside me.This guy always hits the satirical spot for me (0.05)

2) Moving production is not the same as importing slave-labour from the third-world to displace loyal staff (Ā£2.60 an hour, anyone?, paid into an offshore account?)The crew sat on the coaches at Hull ferry terminal taking over crewing the Pride of Hull were British and from the area. Daily Mail reported Eastern Europeans so not third world.

It might be true, but you do not have to follow their example.
The Daily Mail also once had a front-page splash saying āHurrah for the Blackshirts!ā

You are right, the Foden I do some work on is a full width cab with narrow wheel arches, The cab is Pegaso as I found out when I got a second hand DAF drivers seat from Barry Grewcock in Corby to
then find out it did not fit without a lot of work.

No they were not from the local area, they were mainly of philipimo origin and was cheap labour, P&O are saving a fortune on wages by doing this move. Be pretty pointless sacking the original staff to replace them with british seamen.
Operation Brock was introduced on the M20 overnight. I very much doubt that the Filthies will be billing their friends at P&O for the cost.
Think Iād take the Ā£100k+ pay in lieu of notice and find a new job.
Been made redundant twice over my working life and always viewed it as free money and moved straight on to the next thing.
Iāve retrained twice already, canāt understand why some folk see redundancy as a bad event.
Always found it liberating, suppose itās a state of mind, my glass is half full.

Firstly Iād doubt any across the board 100k severance package and even that wonāt go far when the odds are that the ānewā job will often mean a significant pay cut for many.If they can find a job.
