This isn’t about REF UK , it’s about the present government, you know the ones, without a doubt the most despised collection of creatures in living memory.
I don’t GAF who donates what to whichever party they choose to. What I do care about however is the influence such donations give. Are Ecotricity going to give the best value to the taxpayers? Somehow I doubt it, I imagine that there are far worthier companies competing for the work.
No links unfortunately, just life experience I’m afraid
Then why the previous post? What was the point of it then?
This thread is about politics.
You first mentioned donations, and I am continuing the topic.
It is not right that any political party should accept donations from anywhere.
But it seem to me that accepting unprecedented amounts from abroad is even worse than from the UK.
I agree there. So what influence will a foreign resident hope to have over someone who just might be the next UK Prime Minister?
Why is talking about that suddenly off limits for you?
I dont know why you and your lot are so intent on this present episode of muck raking on Nigel (my hero😃) Farage.
Do you never learn?
Ok you all were succesfull ousting Boris for his prawn sandwiches after work,…(full marks for that one btw.)
But the same thing, as I have said before, backfired on you all with Trump.
People voted for Trump not despite concern from the left resulting in smear campaigns, but in a lot of cases because of it…
It will sure as hell also happen here.
Also Zia Yusef is more than capable of taking over…
Btw…just think, the first Asian heritage and Moslem guy to be PM who AINT a lefty…that particular little curveball will put the cat anongst the pigeons
So be careful what you wish for
Newsflash …nobody takes you all seriously anymore.
Again as I have said, even the famous 'Racist and Far Right 'accusations you all bandy about willy nilly have almost become a badge of honour (bizzarelly.)
It gets much better than that.We leave a mountain of coal in the ground. We save all our oil and gas for China and the EU.We burn all the trees which give us oxygen and cover the farm land that feeds us in solar panels.
Despised Collective of Communists is exactly wot these cretins are.But the army seems happy to follow their orders to march into a Russian and Chinese Commy trap, rather than marching against them.
Joined a party, with a major important well known member, who’s idea of loyalty to the US is to call for the delegation of its government to a foreign world government collective.Treason under US law.
Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ younger sister, Ellie Reeves, is the Minister of State without portfolio and attends Cabinet.
Health Secretary Wes Streeting’s partner is paid by Labour as a spin doctor, and Cabinet Office boss Pat McFadden’s wife was appointed as a political aide by Keir Starmer..
MP Rosie Duffield quit the Labour Party, accusing Keir Starmer and his inner circle of “sleaze, nepotism and apparent avarice”.
No doubt you franglais are now desperately digging for ■■■■ to discredit Rosie Duffield.
So are you you saying that Ecotricity were actually given Gov contracts because of political donations? Or just that it looks bad?
If the latter, I agree. No company should ever give money to any party.
But so long as it is legal, then every time a company gets a contract then it will look bad if they have previously given donations.
If the former then go to the Police, or to a reporter, or an opposition politico, with your evidence.
Lots of families are in politics. In many parties.
What I dislike most is MPs employing their close relatives as office staff.
Remember Nadine Dorries quitting as an MP?
She got in a huff about peerages, and said she would resign her seat. She took months to do that; she did not attend the HoC but did draw her full salary and paid her family for doing…what?
Oh a Senior Secretary? Not bad for someomen out of university, £45k. Good start innit.
Yep mention the Labour party indiscretions and then lets put the smokescreen up by referring to The Tories on a Top Trumps basis…pathetic and predictable at the same time.…I don’t think anyone noticed
Oh and extra points Franglais seeing as Nadine Dorries is afaik a member of Reform…double whammy for you to gloat over.
Yeah I have heard from at least 3 guys with forces connections (1 currentlly serving) that (as in every other walk of life in the country) Starmer is about as popular as Fred West among many servicemen.
As ex Army guy who knows more about it than me, could you actually realisticaly ever see some kind of mutiny or coup?
In all honesty I very much doubt it. As a nation we tend to mutter into our warm beer and do very little about it other than moan. Which is probably why there are so many Mayors of a certain ethnicity as they tend to do rather than talk.
So whilst I personally can’t see it, it could also be said that ten years ago I couldn’t have envisaged lock downs, pandemics and the rapid erosion of the West. So I’d never say never.
Now might be a good time for any dissent in the ranks to be filtered out through ‘unofficial’ deniable sources and means.Along the lines that there could be a hidden agenda attached to the Ukraine debacle, like a compromised PM with alleged links to our Cold War enemies, ordering our forces into a TSENTR style trap laid by a known KGB man and his CCP ally.Which would make as much strategic sense now as marching the BAOR into Ukraine, to liberate Crimea, would have made then.
To be fair I won’t bet my newest 35 quid shirts on their allegiance to Starmer. But the King is also an unknown quantity regarding this Socialist zb show on which I might just bet one.
