The allegations are of someone who continued with those comments for years and into his late teens, when it must have been apparent to even the thickest, that they were not mere banter but actually offensive.
Farage is toast, it is reported that aged 17 ish he picked on a 9 year old … repeatedly; there is no defending that. He made things worse yesterday with his Trumpish behaviour. If Reform have any sense they will ditch him like a hot potato. My own POV is that Farage is a mercenary piece of work, and if Reformwant to be a serious contender then they need to ditch him PDQ.
Farage is a great orator but he’s vacuous and as empty as a hot air balloon.
The leader of the Conservatives too is a great orator and a person who I personally like, unfortunately the perception is that the Cons are a busted flush.
If Reform seriously crave power they have plenty of folks from within their ranks who could step up to the plate.
If they seek a charismatic, photogenic and populist figurehead they could do a lot worse than persuading Ant Middleton to lead them..

The argument Goodwin and Farage use about the BBC is fallacious.
In “Til Death Do Us Part” Alf Garnet was a bigot. He was not the official voice of the Beeb.

The language probably wouldn’t be used today, but I am not sure that is good or bad.
Much the same with “Love Thy Neighbour”. The language is not likely to be acceptable today, but the message was not that it OK to be a ■■■■■ It was more “look and laugh at this foul mouthed idiot”.

I used to admire Farage pre Brexit and in the European Parliament telling some of the all important unelected euros what they really were all about, but like I have mentioned here in the past he is not a leader in any sense of the word, a good communicator/orator yes, in a way a bit like Trump disagree with him and your out. We need political reform in this country but definitely not with Farage at the helm. I know nothing of or about Ant Middleton but if he is not a politician in the true sense of the word then no chance.We need Reform with Rupert Lowe and Ben Habib back in the fold.

You might have liked some of Farage’s speeches, and I agree he is a good performer on stage, but looks at his actions when he was an MEP.
Look for yourself at his attendance record. Look at what committees he was on.
Find your preferred sources but I bet they will say he had one of the worse attendance records as an MEP, and although he was on a fisheries committee he did next to nothing for the UK industry.
Look at his expenses too. He took moneys intended to run his office for his constituents but used for his party. That money was reclaimed by the EU.
He is a good public performer. He knows how to win votes. That does not translate to being a good administrator nor a good leader for a country.
