So how did we end up with Serco running private accommodation for asylum seekers? Because Previous administrations cut pennies by employing fewer administrators and vastly increased the time it takes for asylum claims to be processed. Patel and Braverman were in charge then.
More admin have been trained up and so we can expect the numbers in accommodation to drop. There is still a problem with too many in hostels etc, but that did not start when Starmer came in. That started earlier. I could point to who it rose quickest under…but doubtless some are too thin skinned and sensitive. Sunak did well to start getting numbers down.
