I was reading an article on how many Brit’s have finally had enough of this sad, weak and pathetic little island of a country, and they have seen the light to live in Hungary,Poland and the Czech Republic and are snapping up some very decent homes from £15,000 to £20,000 or renting a flat for £150 per month.
Probably because we may be the only country in the world or if not one of only a few where people don’t go through passport control when leaving from an airport or ferry port
Definitely everywhere I’ve been in the EU, south east Asia and in Dubai there are egates or passport desks to exit the country

Where I live we have a lot of care workers from Africa, they are recruited from an employment agency in Kenya and Nigeria, to be honest they are nice people to chat with in the street but their poor command of English is so evident which is concerning if issuing medication and prescriptions in care and nursing homes.
They have brought over their extended family, one company that provides the staff for care homes have lost the contract due to poor language skills, verbal and physical abuse to patients and so on.
since brexit there are every time i board a ferry i show my passport and until recently used to fill in an API (advanced passenger information) form. Now they do it at the kiosk where they stamp the passport as usual. When i have flown out of heathrow you have your passport checked at checkin and passport control.
The issue was during brexit there was no border controls at all. One of the reasons the sencible people voted out
bolloxs i have driven between france and pretty much every country that borders it and into portugal with out a passport. just a silly sign on the borders.

what i dont understand is how they get round the background checks. if you or i wanted to work in a care home we would need enhanced DBS checks. They can land in the country on a friday and be at work on the monday.
You definitely do not have your passport checked at passport control flying out of Heathrow. Not by border force or anyone from the government, just by the airline staff at the gate. I remember the system well from last time I left from there. And the same at Bristol airport and at newhaven docks

there was something i read on the bbc site i think about jury selection. Apparently the judge told the final jurors from the questionnaire you have had to fill in you will of realised thats its about the manchester case (paraphrasing) apparently they were instructed not to refresh their memories by looking it up and only focus on what was said in court. In otherwords ole starmer has given me a good reacharound and cleaned my pipe like no one else so i have disallowed half the evidence and made it look like they are poor law abiding muslims that were set apon by far right thugs and police/
